Hi! I fell in LOVE with this dress and I just bought it today…it is so flattering on. To be honest, the pic on Maggie’s site doesn’t do the dress justice. I feel like the dress needs someone with a few curves and, well a 16 year old model just doesn’t have them yet! ha ha….its really very pretty..good luck!

Oh, about the not filling out a strapless, don’t worry, the corset holds you in so well that you don’t to have anything holding up the dress or falling out!! lol

I do! I bought my Lorie a couple of months ago and even with paying a rush fee, the shipping date is August 10. My wedding is in October and I can’t help being nervous that it’s cutting it a little close since I’ll probably need at least a few alterations.

The store’s sample is a size 14 (way too big on me!), which I’m wearing below. They clipped it masterfully! I ordered a 6. I bought this veil too.

If anyone has any other Lorie photos, please post!

I was with my mother in law looking for her dress today, and I saw Lorie. I can’t stop thinking about it, it is so beautiful in person. I honestly didn’t recognize it on the website because the pictures don’t do it ANY justice. It is beautiful, it is taking all my will power to not go back and try it on ( I already have my dress, and have suffered a little ‘dress regret’ although have never found anything I’d actually change my dress for, until this one ) So, I’m not help, but good luck, it’s stunning 🙂

@ photosearcher…wow, looks GREAT on you!! Very pretty, and we have the same wedding date, yay!! They didn’t have to rush it for me, now I am nervous! LOL…I love your veil, is it one that goes with the dress? I haven’t done the whole veil thing yet.

@nutmeg3343:  Thanks! The veil was one they had in the store but the lace edge matched the lace of the dress pretty well.

Now here’s the bigger question. Are you planning to wear the sash that comes with the dress? I personally don’t like it:

So I started looking around for alternative sashes because I do like the waist sinching effect. I found beautiful sashes made by an artist on Etsy and ordered this one:

but in a different color scheme. My wedding colors are ivory, creme, peach and chocolate brown. The belt will be brown and the embelishment will be shades of ivory and peach. I’m having second thoughts, now, though, and wondering if a simple satin sash might be more “bridal” and go better with the dress. But i do still think this artists sashes are gorgeous. i’m torn.

Help!

🙂

@photosearcher…I really love the sash you chose! I wouldn’t have 2nd thoughts…its beautiful. I think it will be very lovely with the dress…the dress is so classy that a little pop of the unexpected will be fun!

I hate the one that comes with the dress…the dress is so elegant and timeless and the sash, in my opinion, looks cheaply made…when I tried it on, they just turned the sash so that flower thing was in the back so I could just see what it looked like plain. I like the plain WAY better then with the flower…so if I don’t see something else, I will just remove the flower and use the sash….

Tried it on the other day, didn’t like the sleeves. In love! I think this could be the one, the dress is too big in the top.

I ordered mine last month! It’s what I’d been looking for! I like that it comes with the nice heavy sash so that I can just bead that up when I get it instead of purchasing a cheaper additional sash.  I also didn’t order the straps which actually knocked about 80$ off the price! Yea!

I purchased my Maggie dress with this sash and veil.  The sample size was too big so you can’t see the detail in the back, but I LOVE this dress!

I bought my Maggie Sottero-Lorie dress in April and I too will be waiting until mid August for my dress. We had discussed adding a petticoat under it to make it feel a bit more fit and flare or mermaid-ish. I can also take it in just under the bum if I need to, to achieve that look. I’m also getting a new sash for the dress. Can’t wait to get it in!!

I just ordered mine last Saturday – and I am in love it! I didn’t like the sash much either though, and I don’t know whether or not I’ll be replacing it or going just going without entirely. Anyway – here’s a picture of me in the dress. The sample is four sizes too big and several inches too long, so I can’t wait to see what it looks like once the dress is actually true to my size!

All you ladies look amazing by the way! 🙂

I too ordered this Maggie Dress, without the sleeves and I also ordered the shorter version. I didn’t like the sash either, but I can’t afford to buy one of the beautiful sashes off of Etsy. So I decided to buy a flower off of Etsy (for only $10) and use the current sash but just replace the bow. I found the current sash didn’t fit right with the dress at all! I knew I wanted a sash to define my waist, but I just have to be creative in making it to be what I would like! I’m also going to wear a simple one tier veil. I can’t wait, so excited!!!
