@bluebelle23:  I LOVE the trumpet but I feel like it shortens the train.  Have you taken pics of yourself with the dress where your seamstress showed you how each would look?  I think when altering this dress into trumpet, it depends on your taste and body type.  Id love to see pics to help you decide if you have.

@banstett0414:  I will but I am afraid to post them!  I have so many friends on this site who are getting married and I want my dress to be a suprise!

@hedwards0524:  I won’t be altering it INTO a trumpet.  Just putting the crinoline on underneath to lift and poof.  🙂  The a-line crinolines look bulky, just wondering what everyone else wore.

I got my Lorie in last weekend and absolutely LOVE it! I am going to do similar to the brides above and have it taken in for a more ‘fit and flair’ look. I now have to pick out accessories for my dress and I wanted to get a second opinion before going ahead. I need to place an order this week and am starting to panic! I know most people buy the sparkly belts and I think they look wonderful, but are a bit too flashy for my style. I’ve found a flower that I clipped on to the sash and I think it’s more my style. I wanted to get a second opinion, as I haven’t seen many pictures of the Lorie with flower belts instead of sparkly!

@LDT:  I looked and looked and looked for a flower sash I liked.  Still haven’t found the perfect one.  My mother in law is altering the current sash and maybe I’ll like it when she’s done.  If not, I’ll get a sparkly one.  Boo.

@vanfam61:  an english bustle is where you pull the train up with a single or multiple points on the outside of the dress.  I believe that the Karena/Lorie can probably be bustled with a single point or perhap 3 close together for more stability.

If you google search there will be several pictures you can see. I don’t have an pictures of my bustle yet.

Calling all lorie brides…I REALLY need some help.  So i ordered my dress in white, it came in, im obsessed with it!  It fits great, just needs to be shortened and taken in in the waist and bust (I lost some weight =) ) But I ordered a belt and the appliqué looks Ivory.  I HATE it and long story short, I need a new belt.  I want something that will look blingy without looking too dark or ivory.  PLEASE HELP!  Id post a pic but I am in a little bit of a rush right now.  SUggestions?  I dont wanna spend more than $100

@hedwards0524:  I’d look on Etsy. Mine isn’t in yet but I was thinking about using the ribbon that comes with the dress taking off the flower and attaching something else. That might save you money. Good luck! I’d love to see pictures when you’ve decided.

So I don’t have pictures from my actual dress, but I wanted to post an update. Went for my second fitting. We had originally planed on doing an American Bustle (the “swingy” look), but OMG! It pulls the satin underneath and causes it to bunch up in the front. It looks awful. 🙁 Has anyone else had this problem? So we are going for some hybrid French bustle now. It will kind of look like this.(This is from a bride that wore the Karena….similar to Lorie, but with a halter top.) Hoping it fixes the mess in the front!

Well ladies I have collected my dress & its packed in a suitcase ready to fly to Cyprus this weekend. I’m so excited!!

So update on the crease/fold accross the front of my dress. Nothing worked to move it so we have just folded it & sewn it down now, but under the belt, so it smoothed the crease over the hips. Its still visible, but much less so.

And we have done a very simple bustle, I have no idea what its called, it seemed to work the best

From the side…..

And a dodgy pic of me trying to take one of my back haha

Hope these help xx
