- Wedding: March 2013
I am the Maid/Matron of Honor for my best friend and tonight after dress shopping for her we started talking about her bridal shower. SHe is in charge of mine (along with my cousin) and I know they are throwing me a huge fancy shower so I want to make sure hers is great too and return the favor. BUT, I have 7 bridesmaids she was able to split the tasks/costs with. She only has 3 (including myself). So that makes it tricky. AND her wedding is 6 weeks after mine (May 18Th) so were look at a shower in April, which is shortly after my wedding which means I am planning her shower and finishing planning my wedding at the same time. BOTh the other girls in her wedding are also in mine too. Very tricky. Her 1st idea was a brunch at a hotel like one of those tea party kind with the hats, and gloves and dresses……I LOVED this idea and said I would look into it. Until I realized…Who would pay? Do we ask the guests to pay for themselves? That’s poor etiquette right? Especially since her wedding is already out of town (in Palm Springs) and we still expect them to buy her a gift. So then I wanted to throw her that style in a house….BUT none of us have big enough houses……SO here’s my questions I need advice on:
1) Is it tacky to ask guests of a bridal shower to pay their own tab if it’s a luncheon at a restaurant?
2) Does ANYONE know of any of these types of places in Las Vegas I can call and get a price quote to see if it’s something the 3 of us can afford (it would be like 12 ladies).
3) Share your ideas for this kind of themed party if we decide to have it at a house. All ideas welcome and appreciated!
THanks in advance!!
