I’m still waiting so I don’t think I’m supposed to post pictures but I will anyway just to get this thread off on the right foot Smile

My ring was my SO’s grandmother’s. I actually think it’s more special then if it were my own grandmother’s because it really feels like I’m a part his family. I love that I will be wearing a piece of his family history every day for the rest of my life.

I only have this small picture for now. Once I’m engaged, I will have more!

I have my grandma’s ring! It’s pretty simple, but it’s a link to our family. Fiance knew how important it was to be to have it 🙂

@FutureMrs86:  i have my grandmother’s wedding band.  it actually belonged to her mother who died when my grandmother was 19.  Its just a solid 3mm yg band.  It skipped over my mother who wears a replica in white gold. I’m hoping to spice it up a bit with some design like this:

@FutureMrs86:  That makes me sad about your friend who didn’t think her Fiance “spent enough money” on her ring, when she should be cherishing a wonderful, sentimental family heirloom–unless she didn’t like the grandmother or something! Who knows….

My grandparents (mom’s parents) didn’t get wedding rings. They got wedding “pins” instead. My gram wears a black hills gold band around her wedding finger and my pap never wore any type of band. Not really sure what made them opt for the pins…I’ll have to ask her next time I see her. My other grandparents have passed and someone else got my grandmother’s ring.

I have mine, though not as my engagement ring. My grandmother was still alive and well, and still wearing her ring when I got married. After she passed, my mom had given it to me and I wear it on my middle finger since it’s too big and I didn’t want to alter it at all. I love it!

I noticed that both rings have a square, yellow good outline. Was this a popular style/setting “back in the day”? I love seeing and learning about ring trends overtime! Beautiful!!

@Black-Eyed-Susan:  Whoa! We have almost the same ring! I bought mine at an estate jewelery store, and they told me that it was from the 1920s. What do you know about the history of your ring? Antique rings are beautiful, and I would have loved to have an heirloom ring. Y’all are very lucky to have something so special.

I have my great-grandmothers ring. It was the only ring I ever really wanted so my Fiance asked my mom for it!  Not the best quality picture since I took it with my laptops camera.
