- Wedding: April 2015
So we’re planning our evening, cocktail heavy wedding for April at the Yellowhead Brewery in Edmonton. I LOVE the space. Our theme(ish) is vintage/shabby chic with colours of navy, apple green and white (think peacocks…). Lots of time left for planning, but we’ve got most of our vendors nailed down. We’re using Nikole Bordato for photography (we’ve already used her with our engagement photos and we LOVE her), The Sweet Side for our cupcakes and cake and Divinity Productions to rent a Juke Box for the dancing. We obviously have to use the Brewery’s caterer, but I’ve heard its fantastic.
I’d like to hear about others experiences getting married here (ceremony and reception). Also, we’ve hired Red Letter Events to do “month of” planning. We’ve signed the contract and put down the deposit. I’m pretty Type A and have already had a meeting with the planners (Ido and Priya). My opinion of Ido changes from day to day depending on what mood he seems to be in when we communicate – he can be difficult to communicate with or he can seem super excited – depends on which way the wind blows I guess. He’s already not followed up on a task we have discussed (but we’re just letting the task go as it was his idea not ours). He DOES seem to have good taste however and as the event planner for the Brewery, clearly knows the space well (this is SUPER important to me and pretty much the WHOLE reason we went with them). We’ve only met Priya once, but she seems to be more resonable, less moody. Has anyone used BOTH of them before (I’ve read reviews where people have only interacted with Ido). Our plan now is probably not to contact them about planning again until late Feb or early March. We will have to deal with Ido long before then for the caterering tho.
