After two years of sporting my Samsung Glyde (ie: Verizon’s Biggest Mistake of a Product)…I finally got the chance to upgrade. I walk into Verizon and sure enough..they told me what I was dreading to hear: “What do you mean you don’t want the internet on your phone?”
That’s right bees. I am a rare bird in the world of technology. I like my computer to check my email, I like my camera to take photos, I like my Ipod to listen to music, I like my GPS to tell me where to go, and I JUST like to make phone calls on my cell.
Well they directed me over to a table with 3 phones. Yes, 3 phones in the whole store that are offered without the monthly internet package. L-a-m-e.
To make a long story short, I ended up buying an LG Chocolate Touch. (With $10/monthly of internet that I do not want). I’m a bit hesitant about the lack of a keyboard… Anyone else have the LG Chocolate touch? I’ve never had an LG before either. It’s a very girly phone, it looks cute—but that doesn’t mean much.
I think I’ll go Google reviews….ON MY LAPTOP.

I used to have the LG Chocolate but it wasn’t the touch. I HATED it…..Everytime I slid open the phone to answer it I had to say “hello?” 50000 times because the person never heard me – same thing happened to my friend who had the same phone. I traded it in for an iPhone – I was dead set against having the internet/music option – I liked my phone to just make calls, not rule the world.

Oh man Mrs JKH, that’s not promising for me! Its so hard to choose a new cell phone—big commitment! Imagine if we had to pick our FI’s like that! Look around a store for awhile….see who you like, then commit to being with them daily for 2 years.

I’ve had several LG phones, but have never had the Touch so I don’t know much about it. Hopefully you end up loving it, if not, you always have 30 days to exchange it for another phone!

I’m sorry VM! I have no advice. That’s one of the reasons that we’ll be going with T-Mobile when we get our own plan. J is a texting fool and wants a phone with a QWERTY keyboard and I’m not willing to shell out $30 a month for a data plan we don’t use.

I’m not an LG fan. Every LG phone I’ve/my family/BF has had keeps a terrible battery life :/ It is fine for a while but at about 6-8 months it stops holding a charge!
My mom had the LG Chocolate II and she liked it okay, but she doesn’t really use her phone that much.
Like Lillindy said, hopefully you like it!!
