FH ordered a 5 and I ended up needing a 3.75. It took about a week for mine to be totally finished.

Can you take it back to the jeweler your guy got it from? It took my jeweler a few days to size my e-ring down from a 5.5 to a 4.5. They guaranteed everything since they were the ones who sold my husband the ring. You could ask them about their policy should they damage anything in the process.

Mine was much to big as well and i got it resized, it took a week and there were not promises about fizing it if the weld should break….although i would assume they would if it was in a reasonable period of time.

I got mine resized from a 7 to an 8… it ended up cracking but thankfully zales will fix it for free for the lifetime of the ring (as long as it is cleaned and checked every 6 months)

Is your ring insured? If so it should cover any damage that may occur. If not it may also be covered under home owners insurance. I’d look into that before getting anything done.

My ring was sized from a 7 to a 5, they said it would take about 3 weeks, but it took less than 2.

My hubz thought it was better to get bigger so I could actually put it on. He didn’t have a clue what my sixe would be. He got a 6 and it is now a 4 3/4. lol.  They put a temporary size adjuster on for the first bit so I didn’t have to give it up right away. Once I did it only too 2 weeks.

I had to get my ring sized down to a 5, but since my wedding band is actually a guard (2 bands joined together at the bottom with a space in between for my e-ring), its very thick and I had to get it sized to 5.5. So I’m going to have to get my e-ring sized up to 5.5 right before the wedding so it will fit in the guard right.

The sizing is free and took less than 2 hours (since the guy who did the sizing there that day).

Anyway, when I first got my e-ring, I thought it was too big too, because I had a similar problem. I just got used to it, because it doesn’t slip off easily so if I had it sized down, it would be really difficult to take off.

And your fingers swell at different times of the day and year, so while it might be a little big now, it may feel snug later.

I think most people have to get their ring sized. Almost all of my girlfriend have had to get their rings sized, and I think I will be getting mine done… it’s just a little bit too loose… I’m sad to give it up for a few day but it must be done.

Mine was a 7 and I needed a 4.5 so they had to order a new one from Tacori so it didn’t love curvature..I think it still might be a little too big because it spins on my finger when it’s cold out.  It took about 3 weeks but I wore the 7 with a ring guard until then.

mine’s a family ring, so it was the size of his mom’s finger, which is too big for me. it didn’t take long at all, they did it there right in front of us.

I had to get mine resized, as my fiance just guessed my size.  It was only one size out, and it only took about a week (we posted it away – recorded and insured or course).  Although now that the weather is getting colder I have noticed that it is a lot looser when my hands are cold, so I am going to see how well I get on, but it may need to go down one more size (although then what happens in the summer, huh).

I had to get mine resized. It was given as a size 5, and I had to wear it on my middle finger for a few days while we were up at the cottage. When we got back from vacation I had it re-sized right away from the jeweler that he bought it from. It only took 2 days thankfully and was sized down to a 3.75.

I’m not engaged, but when my boyfriend gave me my promise ring, it needed to be sized down. It took about a week. It sucked to be without it, but when I got it back it fit great and was much more comfortable!
