Uhhh, no.  No way.  People actually offer WEDDING INSURANCE?  That is all kinds of ridiculous.  Don’t do it.  Unless you’re like, a Kartrashian and have a bazillion dollar wedding.

Yes, we paid for wedding insurance, because we are having a Destination Wedding. We purchased ours through Wed Safe & it was very reasonable.

I’m not but i could see if there could be a issue of bad weather. Like getting married in florida during hurricane season, in a case like that then i would,

We almost got it but ended up forgetting. Our car insurance company, USAA, offers it. We were going to do it in case someone messed up something at the reception (like something we don’t own and would have to pay for). OR in case someone got too drunk and broke something…. Or, worse, hurt themselves

I’ve also heard it covers your deposit if the venue is to close for some reason and hit the bricks with your money….

We got it.  We wanted to protect the venue (an old family farmhouse) in case anything was damaged, and wanted some protection in case there are any drunk driving incidents (though we are also providing shuttle service back the guest hotel, so we hope that wouldn’t be an issue anyway).  My Fiance paid a bit more for cancelation/postponement, but that would only be an issue if one of us got hurt (I’m going to be so critical of my FI’s driving on the 6 hour drive to Maine!).  The policy was very clear that it does NOT cover cold feet/change of heart.

I did not get it and I hadn’t really heard about it too much and it never crossed my mind as something to look into. We didn’t have a tremendously expensive wedding, and aside from my flaky florist I knew that all of my vendors were reliable. Besides, I had a 4 month engagement, so there’s not THAT much that can go terribly wrong in 4 months.

Man. I can’t believe I missed this question. I feel like I’ve let y’all down!!!

Wedding insurance can cover: deposits, attire, liquor liability, venue damages, lost rings, postponement, no show vendors, deployment, weather (tornadoes, hurricanes, floods)

Travelers is who I sold it through.
