YES!!!  We are, then we’re going to have an after party away from church with alcohol.  A lot of people I know opt for this to save money- and we are saving a ton without having to rent a venue and pay for alcohol at the reception!!!

Plus, I feel like it just simplifies things and lets people enjoy being in your presence rather than waiting for you at the reception while you do photos at the church and travel to the party.

@AliveWithLove:  We are doing the same thing!  Everyone thinks it is bizarre- but it’s what we can afford!

@Sipsis7:  LOVE THIS!!!  it has so much meaning to you, I don’t see why you wouldn’t do it.  I think it will be fabulous, you want to visit with everyone at the reception too, not be blizted for the whole thing.  And this is coming from a drinker haha.  The after party just seemed like a much better fit for us to be respectful to family and friends then get wild afterwards with our close circle.

We are! My Fiance is actually a teacher at the school connected to the church, so it has a lot of meaning for him. The community has embraced me with open arms, too. We are just doing cake and punch at the church with a dinner later for family/out of town guests.
