Are any bridesplanning on a short wedding/ reception. About 15-20 min eremony and rest of time for reception? How did it go if already married or what’s your timeline if in the middle of planning? I know I am posting a lot about this topic, its just not getting through my mind that we can have a beautiful wedding within 3 hours, so some comfort from others in the same boat is comforting right now.

I feel like I already commented on this thread. Is this a duplicate?

I went to a friend’s wedding party that was three hours. The ceremony happened privately for family only, and the reception itself was the full three hours. It was a buffet-style lunch with dancing. I actually thought it was the perfect length. There was plenty of time for conversation, cocktails, food, dessert, a special music performance, the first dances, and an open dance floor.
The bride texted me later that she and a few people were having “afterparty” drinks at a local bar, plus there was a dinner the night before that I was invited to, so those were nice opportunities for me to catch up with the couple more personally (since no one ever really has a chance to talk at the wedding). But even without those extra events, I thought the wedding was just right. I haven’t read your other posts, but maybe you can extend the celebration in other ways/at other times?

you can call it that, as I stated i’m posting a lot on the topic, this is just more straight forward then the others. so I’m sure you did already.

glad you commented! Having ceremony privately else where then having the reception for the full 3 hours is an option! thanks for sharing.
