I went gown shopping at two different boutiques, and I can’t lie…it was really hard/disappointing for me! I’ve always been a little chubby, but I never realized every single sample would be WAY too small on me! I am 5’9″ street size 12, and every single sample I’ve tried has been gaping a good 5 inches in the back. I’m having a really hard time imagining what these dresses would look like if they fit, and at this point I haven’t seen anything I’ve liked at all. My mom even went so far to tell me that she won’t ever be able to tell me I look beautiful because the gowns simply don’t fit.
Anyone else had trouble visualizing what they would look in a dress that actually fit them??

I havent heard of a bride that isnt having this problem!
I am a bridal size 8, and had to attempt to visualize dresses size 14-18 on me. Either way you go, its hard to see what it will look like when it actually fits you! I ended up buying a dress from a sample 14 size and was clipped everywhere and leaving gaping spaces.
Once you have an idea of the style you like, try to picture which dress you have tried on that fits your vision. Thats what I did anyway….my dress kept popping into my head, thats when I knew it was the one.
I do look at pictures of me wearing the sample and have doubts, but with your vision and the help of a support system, you should be ok!

I completely agree, I think everyone, or nearly everyone, has this issue in some way. I fit a bridal size 10 mostly, which you’d think would be ideal for trying dresses, but since my boobs are not “bridal size 10”, everything is a few inches too big at the top. I’m really surprised they don’t have any larger sizes to put you in! I’ve more been put in sizes way too big when I would rather squish into something smaller and get a better idea of the look.
