I’m thinking about doing the same. I made both my veils, but I did look into buying for a bit. If you are going to buy, I’d suggest ebay. They have great fingertip and elbow length one-tier cut edge veil for about $20.

I say have a sparkly one for the reception to have a different look but maybe I’m bias because I love sparkly veils.

Have you considered bustling your veil?  If your going to end up taking it out anyway, maybe that might be an option for you.

I’ve been think of doing this, as I also plan on having a cathedral lenth veil for the ceremony. When else will you be able to wear a veil?

@maggiemay0811:  Sure, there are videos about how to do it on the web.  Not all seamstresses are familiar with it, but once they see the concept they will get it right away and know what to do.

Depending on what you want you can find some for pretty cheap on etsy.

@maggiemay0811:  Yup, almost exactly like the dress.  They add in hidden loops into it.  It can be done so that you never see it, sometimes along the edges.  Like the dress, you have to play with it a bit to get the look you are wanting.

I bought a long manilla lace cathedral veil and a short beaded veil because I couldn’t decide which one I wanted (I also didn’t have my dress there so I couldn’t visualize what it would look like) at the Priscilla of Boston blow out. Together they cost me $40
