Yes, they’re scam artists.  They sell regular cz and pretend they’re selling something Ashalike.  For years they made it sound like they were selling lab created diamonds, when they weren’t.

LOTS of unhappy customers from there, but I’ve seen a few people who loved them and have had good experiences.  They sell CZ, not lab created diamonds (which are as expensive as mined diamonds and aren’t available in all shapes and sizes), or Asha’s which has a carbon coating.  I’ve never seen one IRL so I can’t comment on their quality, but if you do a google search you’ll probably find a LOT of mixed reviews.

FWIW, any website that sells CZ in real gold settings will be expensive because of the metal itself.  Do your homework and look at the cost of settings with diamonds and the cost of them with CZ.  If it’s the same or more for the CZ, it’s a BAD deal.

Yeah, do not buy them simply for the fact they are misleading and tried for a long time to scam people (and still do, I see people pop up on here now and then convinced they bought a colourless lab-created diamond from them).

If you want a quality “diamond-coated” CZ, go with Asha.

Actual lab-created diamonds are still expensive, much more than DNL sells their NOT-lab created diamonds for. Look at Gemesis, which does sell genuine colourless lab-created diamonds:

They still can only make them in limited sizes. It was only within the last few months they even managed to actually be able to get such quality colourless lab created diamonds for retail sale. Before that it was only yellow, blue, etc.

I am a real life, true customer of Diamond Nexus..  I own over a doz individual pieces..  I was loyal & commited to their concept of being “green” & affordable..

I began seeing the light, sorta speak when I was cleaning/examing my ring under a loupe & comparing it to my mine VVS diamond ring..  I had to re-clean my DN ring several times because I refused to believe my own eyes..  but when the truth hit me..  it really hit me when I examined my other DN rings & pendants..  Rings I understand & can accept if it gets chipped/damaged.. cause it goes thru quite a bit of abuse..  but there was no excuses for the chips on my pendants..  & yes, there were several pendants damaged..

You can see pictures of my rings & read my story here:  http://www.facebook.com/groups/204166336367812/
