I just started the first book and watched Season 1 last year. Besides Homeland, it’s one of my favorite shows.

My daughter is very obsessed with the show. She is planning a Game of Thrones dinner party and even has a Pinterest board devoted to the foods she wants to have.

I’m absolutely obsessed, though moreso with A Song of Ice and Fire than the show. I’m relistening to the third audiobook now πŸ™‚

Can’t wait for the 2nd season! If you are throwing a Game of Thrones dinner party you should check out the website… I think its innatthecrossing but I could be wrong. Nothing a quick google search shouldn’t show up. Its a website with recipes of dishes from the books!

@Evie19:  Yep. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts all the time (I’m an artist, so I spend like 6-10 hours a day typically in the studio and this helps keep me going!), so I actually listened to the first 3 on audiobook and then read the last 2. I wanted to read/listen to them before seeing the show, and got hooked. Who is your favorite character? Dany, I take it?

@Evie19

I just started the book yesterday. I got the series for my son for Christmas and he just handed it off to me this week. So far, it’s significantly more detailed, but that’s to be expected.

As thepainter  noted, we are using the website http://www.innatthecrossroads.com/ as a reference for the dinner party food choices.

@Evie19:  Dany is pretty awesome, and I think the actress is doing a really good job showing her evolution. I think the show is doing a great job in most respects, and I’m happy they aged up everyone a couple years. Tyrion is way too attractive, and portrayed a bit differenty, but Peter Dinklage is such a good actor I can overlook that. And their Shae is very different from the book Shae, too.

But I think all the Starks are terrific! Its rare to get such good child actors. Particularly Arya, who is my favorite- my other favorite characters haven’t been shown much yet so I won’t go into that πŸ˜‰

Ummm…I totally plan on naming my firstborn Arya if she’s a girl.  My fiance is OBSESSED with the book series, and has been for about 10 years.  I hope he’s as happy on our wedding day as he was the day he read that the TV series was actually happening πŸ˜‰

I’m halfway through the second book, and while they’re time consuming to read, they’re awesome.

um, we have a white german shepherd we got this summer and his name is Ghost. That’s how obsessed we are! And we are nerds.

Anyway, the books are good too. I can’t wait for season 2 on tv!

@medsie35 My Fiance is so obsessed, he stopped calling our cat by his name of Juice and now calls him his basterd son, Jon Snow.
