I’m considering hiring a wedding consultant, mostly for advice on a couple of detail items and also to be at the wedding on the day-of in case anything goes wrong/we need help/something I didn’t even think of comes up.
Anyone else use a wedding planner or consultant? Was it worth it?

I have a wedding planner/coordinator, because it was required by my venue. She is supposed to be a “day of coordinator,” but she has been actively involved since I hired her in December. I rely on her for vendor recommendations and discussions about contract strategy. She attended our detail meeting and tasting with the hotel and has been in contact with all of my vendors to get the day-of-timeline going. I am a super OCD bride, but I have really appreciated having her. I imagine that she will be invaluable the day of the wedding because there are so many moving parts that I can’t oversee personally. Well worth the money.

I am in the process of looking for one right now. It is going to be well worth it for me, because neither my Fi or I care about all the little details and tablescapes and I want it to look nice so I need someone to work on the design elements of my wedding and work with me on my input and injecting all the little personal details. Also we have a non profit venues so I need someone in charge on our wedding day.

I hired a DOC because I want to be able to relax a bit on the day of. It will really take he pressure off Fiance and I so we dont have to direct everyone and answer everyones questions when we are supposed to be getting ready and taking in the days details. I only hired her for the day of services, but she has already been super helpful and SO worth it! I recommend at least a DOC to everyone!

We have a DOC for our at home reception. She’s been making vendor suggestions & checking in on us to make sure everything is going well. She also reviews all of our contracts before we sign them. It’s been worth it so far, definitely.

I hired one and i loved loved loved it. We didnt have to worry about anything that day other than getting ready and getting married. It was worth every penny and i would have paid double! There were things that happened that i didnt even know about afterwards until we had our recap meeting. She did such a great job taking care of those little things that came up.
If you can afford it hire a DOC at least. And most likely she will also help with those other details that you are wanting help on.

I’m hireing a DOC for 850$. I think it’s totally worth it since who else is going to do that stuff! Not me, not my mom, not my FMIL! Its worth the piece of mind

I have a wedding planner and I cannot express enough how incredible she has been. I don’t think I would be sane at this point without her. If you can budget at least a DOC I highly recommend it so that you can enjoy your day and not stress.

My mom insisted on hiring a coordinator and I must say, they have been great thus far. The two ladies have worked together for a while and have some great connections. They gave me a ton of vendor recommendations and will be coming to our tasting to meet with the catering manager at our venue. They have put together a timeline for the day of the wedding and will be responsible for making sure everyone is where they need to be that day. They are also taking care of supervising vendor deliveries and pickups. I highly recommend having one if it is in your budget. I’m super picky and love doing things myself but for whatever reason, for my wedding, I’m fine with having someone else be responsible for all the details the day of the wedding. I want to just enjoy the day.

Thank you all, ladies! I’m also OCD and have loved planning my wedding. But having someone else manage the stress and wedding “day-of” sounds perfect!

I have a friend who is an event planner and she is our wedding coordinator. I think it is awesome because we don’t have to worry about logistics the day of! Peace of mind will be amazing.

I would have totally hired an event planner, but I am one myself (I plan large fundraisers for a non-profit) so I already had a lot of the connections that a coordinator could provide. If its in your budget, go for it! We still would have hired a DOC, but our venue provides one.
