I’ve read in a couple magazines that the bride could host a luncheon, tea or dinner for her bridesmaids to thank them for their service as bridesmaids. I wasn’t planning on doing this since I am already giving them each a custom gift at the wedding as a bridesmaid gift/thank you.
However, the night before the wedding, 5 of my 8 bridesmaids are spending the night with me at the venue location (which has on-site rooms). We will likely go out to dinner that night. I was thinking of picking up the check for the dinner in place of a bridal luncheon; however, the place we’ll go to eat is a bit pricey and I’m sure everyone will also have a few glasses of wine. So, I’m having second thoughts. I don’t want to appear cheap, but the bill would likely be a couple hundred dollars which is more then I should spend right now.
Is anyone else doing this? What exactly are you doing?

I am hosting a series of brunches for my girls… The first brunch was early on in the planning process so everyone could get on the same page and meet eachother. My next few will be at key moments, like when the bridesmaid dresses arrive we’ll do a little fashion show, and then closer to the date we’ll have an invitation stuffing party. I hosted the first one, and plan to host the others, at my loft. I made a few quiches and tea sandwiches and muffins and had mimosa and bloody mary fixings. I’ll vary the menu a bit with each one, but I love entertaining and it’s a great way to get everyone in the same room!

I feel the same way about spending. I’d love to treat my friends to a great, fancy dinner but I just don’t have that much money. I might try for it though.
I’m definitely going to try to at least make them an awesome dinner because I always like an excuse to cook >.< Maybe salad, a cocktail, I like the PP’s tea sandwich idea so I don’t have to worry about washing plates and whatever.

We are getting our nails done the day before the wedding and I plan on treating my girls for lunch afterwards.

Sort of. My BMs are arriving for hair and make-up at 11 a.m. and I’m going to have lunch catered for us with champagne. I’m also buying everyone lunch next week at my destination bachelorette, but that’s for more than just my bridal party.
