Totally not wedding-related.
I’m not in SC and I know absolutely nothing about it. It’s possible I might be moving to Columbia, however. Anyone have any info on the city? Nice place to live? Best neighborhoods? Is not having winter the greatest thing in the world?

I’m in Columbia! I’m not going to be a huge help to you though because I’m wanting to move. It is HOT HOT HOT in the summer. And incredibly humid. I would say Lexington or parts of Northeast are probably the best places to live. If you have any more specific questions let me know! I can’t tell you a whole lot since I’m not originally from here but I have bits and pieces of information.
ETA: While most of the winters are mild, this past year we did get about six to seven inches of snow covered with about a half an inch to an inch of ice. The year before we got about ten inches of snow one day. These are isolated incidents but I just thought I’d let you know!

@mandb122: AH! That kind of winter sounds PERFECT!! 🙂 Do you know anything about the Elmwood Park area? I was in the area earlier this week and just loooove the houses around there. But is it a decent area to live?

From what I’ve seen of the Elmwood Park area, it’s beautiful and the houses are gorgeous. I think all of Columbia is the same though in that it’s spotty with areas being good and bad. Maybe just check it out a few times during the day and at night and even maybe ask a realtor or something? Our specific neighborhood is nice but you can go five to ten minutes away and it’s not a great area which is kind of how all of Columbia tends to be.

Hi, I’m in Columbia…orginally from Atlanta…I’ve beenhere 3 years and it’s ok. I visit Charlotte, Charleston and Atlanta a lot whenever I need to do some serious shopping, but other than that, its ok…let me know if I can be of any help.
