Is anyone in the TWW? I am, sort of…
We are “casually” trying to conceive (because full TTC is still a little scary to me, LOL!). I have been charting and checking CM, so I know my fertile times. But we aren’t going above and beyond, doing the deed on any day we normally wouldn’t just to conceive.
So basically I ovulate tomorrow or Wednesday. We DTD a few times over the weekend, so we’ll just wait and see what happens.
I wasn’t sure if we should start trying in April, because that would give us a Christmas baby (I wrote a post/poll about it!). So we decided to just be super casual about April and if it doesn’t happen, we’ll try again in May.
Anyway, I am now at the very beginning of the TWW- my period is due 4/26 or 4/27. But my mind is already going crazy! I keep thinking about what MIGHT be happening in my body, and it is sort of crazy!!! I am also a little paranoid about what I am eating, putting on my skin, how I exercise, etc. I know I just need to live my life, but even just the POSSIBILITY makes me think twice about everything!
Anyone else in the TWW?

Oohhh… two week wait??
i get it.
I’m there! i just wrote a post – i’m late, but negative test! ugh
Post # 5
Yep, two week wait!! 🙂
Keep testing! lilsneakers got a negative four days after her missed period, and then waited and tested a few days later and got a positive! So keep testing! (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/tww-over-negative-hpt-038-no-period-whhaa)
I am JUST beginning my two week wait!

’tis true! I thought I was onto the next cycle with all the negatives but there’s no mistaking the thick double blue line now! lol
keep testing and if you come up negative, keep waiting (it’s haaaard) – I never thought that those “up to 5 days early” tests could be a bunch of bs! lol

Okay. So I’m not TTC (I know what that means), but I do read these posts and I have some questions. Someone please answer me
The TWW is the Two Week Wait – but two week wait for what?? Also when someone posts that they “BD” what does that mean?
Also, totally curious. If you have your period, on say, the 1st of the month and stop bleeding on let’s say the 4th. Would you be most fertile (likely to conceive) between the 4th and the 15th which would mean the TWW is the two weeks between the 15th and the next period?? Someone please clarify.

Well, I may be in the TWW but really don’t know! I am on day 18 of a 29-35 day cycle so could be (but also may not be yet).
And, yes, it is very hard not to focus on every little “symptom” during the TWW!

@lola2011: BD = Baby Dance, ie sex
the two week wait (which i have never noticed abbreviated until today, haha!) is the two weeks after ovulation, before the start of your period.
everyone is different with their cycles, but let’s say you have a normal 28 day cycle. Day 1 is the first day you are bleeding. “typically” day 14 is ovulation (right in the middle) and the few days before and after are when you should BD for best chances of getting preggo. THEN, you have to usually wait 2 weeks to see if you start your period.
it’s a Looooooong two weeks too! 😉

@lola2011:TWW is the 2 weeks between your date of ovulation and probable conception to the time of your next period being due or not.
BD is baby dance, which means sex. I hate that term and don’t understand why people can’t just say it.
Your fertile time is about 4-5 days prior to ovulation not exactly the end of your period. It is a rough estimate that ovulation occurs on day 14 of your cycle but this is not the case for everyone, just based on an average 28 day cycle. So fertile days for these cycles would be cycle days 10-15.

@lola2011: TWW is the time between your ovulation day and the day of your next period. It is usually always two weeks. But the time between the first day of your period and ovulation can vary. For example, say you have a 28 day cycle your ovulation would occur around day 14 (14 days after the first day of heavy bleed) and then you would be in your TWW. But for me, I have long cycles and don’t ovulate until around day 20 or 21 putting my cycles at around 35 days.
You are only fertile for around 24-36 hours each month after the egg is released.
And BD is baby dancing, i.e. having sex. =)

Oh! Baby dance.
Okay. I honestly would have NEVER guessed that! I was thinking “Bed Down” LOL!
So okay, I guess that makes sense then…Thanks! I think for me my cycle is a bit different, I usually ovulate a week before my period, so it’s like a week on that end, so I couldn’t figure out if the TWW was before or after that..
All clear now and thanks for answering!

I’m almost there. I think I’ll ovulate sometime this week, and this is cycle 7 for us…so every TWW seems to take two months for us! Haha…but hopefully this is our month.

@2PeasinaPod: Good luck with your TWW!!!! Any tips to stop thinking about it ALL.THE.TIME!?
I’m there…right at the beginning still. This cycle my goal is to not analyze any symptoms and not to test for 3 weeks at least. I’m really serious about it, so hopefully I can’t stick to it!

@JaneyD: I only hope I can be as diligent as you are! I’m trying to take it easy, but found myself googling implantation symptoms. But I have refocused and am determined to just relax these next two weeks and focus on a few projects that I need to get done. Hopefully these next two-three weeks will fly by for us!
