I don’t have a lot of time to cook, so I go for easy.  We freeze canned pumpkin and plain yogurt in ice cube trays as treats.  Also we do carrots and frozen green beens.  We are trying to stay away from buying expensive treats that are full of filler.  I would also love to know other easy and quick recipes for dog treats.

we give a lot of fresh fruits and veggies…just double check first to make sure that food is okay.

i made “carrot cake” for my dog’s birthday…it was basically shredded carrots, flour, and applesauce i think that you combine and bake. i made mini-muffins. google “dog birthday cake” or “homemade dog treats” and you’ll find TONS of easy recipes.

I “make” my own dog food. I feed prey-model raw. 80% meat, 10% bone, 5% liver, 5% other secreting organs.
(I made a post about it on my blog that goes into more detail, but I don’t think I’m allowed to post it here because it may be “blog promotion”. But if you check out the December blog sharing post, you can find a link to my blog, and the post is titled “My Pet Wolves”.)

For homemade treats, I boil chicken or I dry meat or liver in my food dehydrator.

As far as “recipes”, if you’re looking for something to cook I won’t be much help. My dogs get primarily raw food; and they don’t get any grains and only get minimal fruits/veggies (they get whatever I drop on the floor while I’m cooking).

My recipes go more like: “chicken leg”, “beef steak & organ mince”, “lamb tongue”, “pork meat & chicken feet”, etc.
