I realized I had some chicken, some rice (uncle ben’s chicken flavor), some cream of potato, and a few other things laying around. The crock-pot post got me thinking. I looked up a chicken and rice recipie for crockpot and took that and varied it… so I ended up throwing all of the following in my pot:
3 tblspoons butter(margerine in my case)
Uncle bens chicken flavor rice… along with the seasoning pack *instead of cup of rice and lipton onion soup packet*
Cream of potato soup (condensed)*instead of suggested cream of mushroom or celery that i didn’t have*
cup of milk
cup of water
some grated parmesean cheese(recipie online called for it)
sprinkle of pepper
sprinkle of garlic pepper
Am I just going ot have a disgusting mess come out of this?? or is there a chance it’ll taste good?? lol

That sounds great! How did it turn out?

I’m sure it will be just fine. The variations aren’t even that far from the originals.

Why wouldn’t that taste good? Chicken rice instead of onion rice, potato soup instead of mushroom, but both are still cream based soups. Heck, it would probably still taste good if you used vegetable beef soup and water instead of milk.

Anything in a crock pot turns out yuumy most of the time!! How did yours turn out??

I dind’t realize I had responses!! lol The flavor turned out pretty good.. it was a little mushy b/c it had rice AND cream of potatoes… but Fiance loved that it was a sort of mush texture with chicken! lol Next time I definitely want to NOT use cream of potato!

My mom makes a similar meal to this, but without potatoes, and white rice and cream of chicken soup (my parents are picky eaters and tend to cook on the “bland” side). It turns out pretty good (though also mushy), it’s a good meal for cold days. Your version has reminded me I should try to take my mom’s and spice it up with some more interesting flavors! I bet it would be good with alfredo sauce and cajun seasoning!
