I wrote this post before but no one answered, I’m desperate. Please help 🙁
I’m really hoping someone could help me out with this. I’m hoping to have my wedding near the coastline (5-10 miles away) in southern california. Most of my guests (Fi side) are out of state so I would like it to be in a pleasunt area (like a mini vacation for them). I would really love a venue with nice architecture and pretty views (but I guess everyone wants that right? lol)
I’ve looked at most of the posts here (there’s alot!!), and pretty much every page of “here comes the guide” and havent found one that’s beautifu venue for my budget. Am I missing something? Should I just hire a wedding coordinator, I hear they have better insight. Will this save me money at the end?
My budget for Ceremony/Venue/Food is $17000
Expecting about 130 Guests

@nina1984: Have you checked out the University Club at UCI? They are very reasonable and it’s close enough to Newport Beach/Corona del Mar area for your relatives to make a vacation out of it. It doesn’t have pretty views of the ocean but it does have pretty views of Aldrich Park in the middle of the campus. There’s also Tivoli Too in Laguna Beach that is pretty popular.
Sorry I don’t have any other better suggestions! Good luck with planning.

Malibou Lake Club just outside of Malibu. Very reasonable. All inclusive. On a lake with beautiful scenery.

Just FYI – Malibou has pricing on their website but when we actually went there and met with the site manager they were cutting prices left and right for us. We chose to get married elsewhere, but this was for a Saturday wedding in prime Summer. Just FYI.

Have you looked into a Veterans Hall or Community Center? Santa Cruz isn’t SoCal but it has a GORGEOUS Veterans Hall that rents out for around five hundred dollars and allows alcohol and catering on your own. Perhaps something like that is in your area?

Check out VRBO.com. (vacation rentals by owner) whe went through there to find our venue. Private estates are a lot of work but sometimes they end up being more affordable! There’s also San Deigo botanical garden. I have a friend getting married there next ear, it’s beautiful And pretty affordable! Good luck!

In San Diego, the Rancho Bernardo Inn and the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club are probably in your budget.

check out the Anneberg Beach House in Santa Monica. We were considering our wedding there. You are right off the beach…..if you pick an off season date, it is ALOT cheaper. You can do something right around your budget (well, at least when we checked last year in 2011).
