I don’t know anyone and being pregnant now I can’t imagine most knowing. But my husband sold medical supplies in the NiCU and part of his territory was rural Georgia. Apparently ‘toilet babies’ were a very common thing up there. Like several a month at one of the hospitals common. So not only did these particular moms not know they were pregnant, but they actually got completely through labor without knowing until the baby came out. I’m guessing some of these women were trying to hide it, but some just didn’t know. I’m guessing it was some sort of education issue and also an obesity issue.

I have a family member who didn’t know until she was about 6 months along. She claims it’s because she was still nursing her first (so yes she already knew what pregnancy should be like!) and wasn’t getting periods because of that. Personally, I still don’t get how you don’t notice, especially if you have already been pregnant before.

I know a girl that was like 6 or 7 months before she ‘found out’. And she had a BELLY and was getting wasted. I’m pretty sure she knew, just didnt care/is really stupid.

A woman I used to work with didnt know she was pregnant until she was 8 months! She still had regular bleeding, so she thought she was having periods. She only gained about 5lbs.

I have a friend who was nearly 5 months before she realized. She never had regular periods and didnt have any real symptoms until she finally started showing. Her and her husband were NTNP. She was running marathons with the baby and didnt even know it!
Shes got a beautiful, healthy one year old now!

My aunt didn’t find out she was pregnant until she was 7 months along. She is SUPER skinny. I saw her right before she found out and I have to say, she didn’t look 7 months pregnant. She looked like she had gained a little weight but it didn’t look like pregnancy weight. I just assumed that since she was so skinny, every little pound she gained would be obvious, so I figured “oh, she gained a few pounds.”
It’s crazy because she has already had kids before this one, so it’s not like she just didn’t know what pregnancy symptoms were. She just didn’t have any, and she was on BC, so it never crossed her mind that she might be pregnant.

One of my great-aunts on my mother’s side of the family was a very vuluptuous woman who went to the hospital with stomach pains and left with a baby. She had no clue she was pregnant. This was before I was born, and I believe also before my parents were born.

OMG that’s crazy that so many of you know women who didn’t know they were pregnant! I have scary, realistic nightmares about this happening to me, seriously.

I’m ging to piggy back on what a lot of folks have said by saying I’m pregnant now and I’m not sure how someone couldn’t NOT know. But… My grandmother says she didn’t know she was pregnant with my father until she was about 5 months because she was still having her period. But she had already had 4 kids before him so you would think she knew what it felt like being pregnant. However everyone’s pregnancies are different and maybe these women really didn’t have any symptoms at all…

My Future Mother-In-Law was 47 when she gave birth to my Future Brother-In-Law. she found out she was pregnant at 6 months. She only found out she was Pregnant when she went to the doctors to test for diabetes. She thought she was going through menopause and putting on some middle age spread. She even went back home for a holiday and her sisters gave her some chinese herbal slimming teas….so lucky she didnt M/C and that my Future Brother-In-Law was born healthy!

I’m always freaked out about this! haha I carry weight in my belly (that I’m trying so so hard to loose!) and have the world’s worst irregularity so I feel like I could be one of those people! Fiance and I are careful, but man, I don’t want to go to the hospital for stomach pains and come home with a baby!
I also used to watch that show on TLC which adds fuel to the fire and it freaks me out. 😛 Sooooo I stopped watching it. 🙂

Yes, one of my mother’s friends went into labor without knowing she was pregnant. Blows my mind and it’s hard to believe, but it happened. She wasn’t overweight or anything either, but the baby was a “back baby” so she really didn’t look pregnant.

I feel like it could happen to me! Birth control tricks your body into thinking you’re pregnant. So many times throughout the first year of taking BC, I thought I was pregnant (didn’t start BC til I was married). Now I trust my BC so if I have some of the “symptoms” of pregnancy, I’m just like “eh, it’ll go away soon”. So I could see how it could happen if you’re on BC.
