Those are so unique!  Do you know a graphic artist that could create it for you and print on cardstock?  Or, maybe there is someone on Etsy that could make them for you for cheaper?

EDIT:  If you key in “top secret wedding invitation” on google there are quite a few options.

this doesn’t look too difficult to DIY.  The text will be easy enough to do.  I think the most difficult part would be to make the emblem – but even that looks quite doable.

I would be simple enought to design and they sell printable manila envelopes you could print them on.  It would be really cute, and you can buy top secret envelopes.  Too cute.

The reason they’re $1700 isn’t so much the design but because it’s letterpressed (and I count at least 4 runs). So you could definitely do a similar design and get it printed–regular digital–for much cheaper. The assembly also probably went into the cost–with the brads attaching the paper to the file-folder and stuff, but you would probably do that all yourself too, so there’s really no labor cost either.

Not sure if this would help you at all, but I’m a freelance graphic designer, and I’d be happy to help you with these!  I could mock up the design and all you would need to do is print them.  It does look like a very simple layout.  Printing may be the difficult part though πŸ™‚  Feel free to send me a message though!
