My very country friend is getting married very soon, and wants all the bridesmaids to wear black cowboy boots. I am a city girl, and will literally never wear them again, so they don’t have to be good quality. I am also a poor student, so would like to spend as little as possible (absolute maximum of $75). It would be best if I can get them in a store, as I have funny feet and legs and have trouble fitting boots.
Also, I’m in Canada, just to make it even more difficult 😛
Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Tigerlilybride: I don’t know what your shopping options are, but I would be looking at Craigslist, Kijiji and thrift and consignment stores.

julies1949: I have been, but so far everything is brown. Black is so much harder.
lilchicana: I’ll look there! We still have Target for a few weeks, I’m going to check there tomorrow.

DancinDarlin: She just decided she would like us all to have the same ones if possible. Target has some great ones for $40 but apparently they don’t ship to Canada.
Who would’ve thought this would be so difficult!

Tigerlilybride: where in Canada do you live? If you are anywhere near the border you could have them shipped to a receiver in the USA and then go pick them up.
If you are not close to the border, you could have them shipped to a mail fowarder to send them on to you.

Tigerlilybride: I have used myUS.com to ship items from the USA to Canada before. Its so awesome. You get the items shipped to their wearhouse, pay a small fee, and they forward the package to your door! That would work really well for your target boots.
Also I dont know where you are in Canada, but if you are in/near Toronto there are a TON of cowboy boots in the thrift stores in Kensington Market. I guaruntee that you will find enough pairs of black boots between a few stores.

katza: I’ve never used anything like that but I’ll look into it! I’m in Alberta so no, nowhere near Toronto! You would think since half the province is farmers/ ranchers this would be easy, but the real ones are like $300!

Tigerlilybride: I am from Calgary, so I feel ya. I think the stampede drives up the prices of cowboy boots. Everyone has to have them! And no one sells their boots to the thrift shop. Pretty sure my FI’s dad (rancher) has been wearing the same pair his whole life.
But actually, try myus.com! Good luck

katza: That’s exactly what I was thinking! They aren’t sold second hand around here, they’re ridiculously expensive, and it’s hard to find the cheap fake ones because so many people want real ones!
