i take one-a-day prenatal vitamins with the separate dha supplement. to be frank, i hate it. if i don’t take it with a huge meal, it upsets my stomach for several hours. the dha supplement makes me burp a fishy taste. they just make me feel gross – not sure if it’s the iron or what. i dread taking them every day. bleh.
i plan to talk to my ob about it at my next visit, but just curious if anyone else particularly likes their prenatal vitamin? i’d love to have some other brands in my back pocket in case i switch…

i went to get bloodwork yesterday and the doctor’s office gave me a ton of samples of like 5 different brands (like at least 2 months worth). they said to try them and if i find one i like, i can get the prescription. so maybe you could ask your doc for some samples to try?
up until now (and since before the wedding) i was just taking CVS brand generic prenatal. i didn’t have any problems with them but i’m interested to see what the prescription ones are like.

on dr oz he said to keep fish oil from having that burp, to keep it in the fridge, maybe you could keep them in there? they make gummy prenatals you could try. i’ve seen them at target and costco. they look like this:
ETA: they dont have calcium or iron, so you may need some other supplements.

We’re not TTC but I take the Target brand. I really like them. They’ve never made me nauseous even though I usually take them on an empty stomach.

I would call your doc. earlier- no need to suffer! Mine were also giving me stomach problems and after 2 wks I couldn’t take it and called the doc. He told me over the phone another brand and I’ve been fine since.

I take the Trader Joe’s version. I’ve had no problems with them – I take them as directed with a meal. Good luck!

MrsE.ToBE — those are the vitamins I’m taking now. Pretty much love them cuz they don’t taste bad and I don’t have to swallow a huge horse pill. I agree tho, wish they had iron and calcium in them. Guess I’ll have to worry about that when I actually do get PG.

I take rainbow light and I love it. I doesnt upset my stomach at all.

I take a prescription type pre-natal. Mine were free at Meijer – they have a free pre-natal program for certain ones. I agree though – they make my stomach hurt if I don’t eat/drink something directly after. My friends said they had the same problem.

I take all of my vitamins at night for this reason. That way I don’t notice any upset tummy or fishy burps. 🙂
I use the Whole Foods brand prenatals and haven’t had any problems, but again, I take them at night.
