Seems like this board is a little lonely! Are there just not very many December 2011 brides? I’m wondering how much planning everyone else is doing–I’m finding it difficult because we’re still pretty far out, but I’ve started booking some of the big stuff:
Dress–bought! I go back this December to get sized and they’ll order it at that point (staying the same size for 12 months seemed less daunting than for 18, so I asked to wait 6 months for the initial measurements)
Photographer–selected! We haven’t signed a contract yet, but we’ve been “penciled in”; we have to work out payment and timing details, though.
Venue–booked! We signed the contract, and sent in the deposit!
Rings–in hand! We ordered them several months ago, and they came in yesterday; I’m in love. I wanted to start wearing mine right away but mean Fiance said “no” 😉 They’re safe at the bank now.
Caterer–booked, sort of; it’s through the venue
MOH–accepted! I haven’t asked my BMs yet, but my cousin is going to be my Maid/Matron of Honor and I’m so delighted.
Not a lot of big stuff left to do, although I haven’t worked out anything in terms of the officiant, cake vendor, DJ, or flowers. I’m hoping to DIY my flowers; my future SIL is great with arranging flowers and our photog’s mom either was a pro or did some freelance flower arranging on the side…that’s unclear, but she’s very talented. The photographer is a cousin (sort of…it’s complicated, but he is a professional ad photographer, wedding photographer, and photojournalist. I wouldn’t have picked him if I didn’t love his work, since we’re not exactly close family), so his mother will be a guest and hopefully a helpful one 😉

So far we have a venue, caterer, florist and photographer. Almost have a band and an officiant. I like being ahead of the planning timeline 🙂

We have a venue, a photographer, a videographer, and a coordinator. And technically a caterer, since they’re required for the venue. We had a big push of activity at first, but things have died down now…I’m finding a lot of vendors who don’t want to sign a contract more than 12 or 14 months in advance, so I think we’re done until towards the end of this year!

I was supposed to get married this month so I already had everything planned out and booked. But since the date change and the time of the year for the new wedding date we have decided to change colors and a few other things we didn’t really care for about the wedding.
Dress – bought and in my closet although I do plan on losing 40+ pounds before the wedding in which the fiancee told me he would buy me a new dress if I did!
Decor & Accesories – OMG! We just put all of that in the attic last night and there is tons of stuff.
I am actually very excited about the date change because it allows us to stretch our budget a little further for those thing that we wanted but really couldn’t afford.

hey fellow december brides!
so i’m kinda freaking out…
the only thing we have booked is our ceremony site!
we’re going to look at reception venues this week & hopefully buying a dress witihing the next couple weeks. we have also started to buy pieces for our centerpieces.
are we really far behind in the planning process?!

@princesspeacock:I don’t think you are behind in the planning process. I think I’m just super ahead of the game at the moment. We do still have over a year to go so no worrying yet.

I haven’t done much of anything other than make notes, write down phone numbers and put out my feelers for things. I have decided on my colors, my Maid/Matron of Honor, bridesmaid and where I would like to get married at. So far though, nothing is set in stone.
I don’t even have my “real” ring yet! FH proposed with a fake one so he and I could go pick out one together, but he’s working graveyard shift and I’m working the afternoon shifts mostly so we never get to see each other much. Haha. I’ll be so glad to have mine though.
I just didn’t want to do anything too soon, although I am DYING to go try on dresses!

@princesspeacock: Don’t worry! I am a December 2010 bride and I didn’t start planning til the summer (except for our church/date)..and things have come together nicely..I’m almost done planning…..Its a little stressful with a neverending check list, but i like getting several things done at once and it does keep u from spending too much on decor, etc…

I am a December bride! We have our church, venue, photographer, dj,dress, and cake. I’m almost done making the favors and the std’s are going out next week! As for the invites the pockets are cut and the invite designed but not printed. The centerpieces still need a lot of work. I have to paint and glitter my trees but can’t do that until spring. Ive been on a wedding kick the past couple days since I just bought my dress!! Good luck to everyone planning!

Hello December Brides!
I am having fun with the planning, and in the past couple weeks have accomplished a lot for the wedding!
Hired Planner/DOC – Thank God for early wedding gifts. My Future Mother-In-Law knows a planner and offered to hire her for us (we checked her out and met with her and love her!)
Dress – Going to include a pic cause I love so much, but I tried her on and waited 3 weeks before I went back, and saw about 50 different dresses at various other shops on… She is ordered and paid for =)
Venue – We are doing the ceremony and reception at the same place to make it easy on our guests since my entire family is coming from out of town. My venue pricing also includes a cake… FROM THE BAKER WE USE FOR OTHER THINGS!! Woot woot!
Bridal Party – Is selected, for us it was a no-brainer.
Guest List – Mostly finished!!
Save-The-Dates – Ordered and should be here today!!
I feel like I am making good progress… How about you Bee’s?

Oh the photog contract is signed, and our e-pics are done!
Oh man, I’ve made so little concrete progress since my last post ages ago (whoops!). We did get our photog contract signed, and had our epics taken–so fun! Ordered STD’s, finalized guest list, sent out STD’s…sent out more of them when we realized we’d left a couple important people off the original list after about 2 weeks (whoops again).
I’m playing with centerpiece ideas and don’t really want to work with a florist until I know whether I want them or me to do centerpieces; I’m leaning towards doing candelabras with some scattered rose petals, which would mean no florist needed on that piece.
Hopefully picking out fabric for our guestbook quilt today, since I have some time off.
I got caught up in grad school, holidays, and trying to buy a house, so I haven’t been checking things off as diligently as I was before, but it’s time to start working on it again! Less than a year now 😀

I have found a photographer and am going to talk to her next week. Booked the reception venue. I have found A dress that I love but I am going to go look at a few more places.
That’s about it 🙂

I am new to WB and getting married 12-3-2011! We have definitely made some progress: venue booked, deposits sent to DOC/florist, band, and photographer, and I have decided on my DIY centerpieces. We are meeting with the caterer and officiant this weekend–it feels very good to check things off of our list.
When we set the date at the end of last year it seemed so far away, but it seems to be creeping up very quickly! The one thing I feel really behind on is choosing my dress, because I’m trying to make arrangements for my mom to come in from out of town and it’s been tough to find a date that works for her and Future Mother-In-Law. How far are all of you on your dress selection/ordering/alterations?
