What a horrible woman! Trust that no one but this awful witch even notices things like the back of your neck (wtf?) and that no professional would try to shame you to extort thousands of dollars. I am so, so sorry that was your experience today 🙁 Hugs.

I had it on my underarms – I think I got a groupon and it was like $99 for 6 treatments. It worked really well. I could use one more round of 6 treatments, if I came across a groupon (I have since moved though and we don’t have groupon here).

Even if you do decide to do it, I wouldn’t go to a place that uses shame as a sales tactic. GRRR. That makes me mad.

Please don’t shave or wax your arms. I know a couple of people that do it and it is SO gross feeling when you brush up against their arms and it’s been more than a couple of days.

Aw, this sounds brutal.  But, honestly, think about it…. The crappier she makes you feel about yourself, the more $ she’ll make, right?  Try not to take it too seriously, it’s probably not as bad as she’s wanting you to believe.  It’s like anything “beauty” related – the industry wants to make a woman feel like she’s wrinkly (or at least worry about getting wrinkly), so they make more money.  Sorry, I haven’t had any of the hair removing procedures (just regular ol shaving the armpits and legs, and plucking the brows).  Try not to feel crummy about it. 🙂

I agree, please don’t wax or shave your arms.

No one but your SO/FI/DH is going to notice the hair down your neck and heck, if he loves you he wouldn’t give two craps about it!

Who looks at the hair on someone’s neck? Don’t listen to anything she said.. she was just trying to get your money.

That’s so rude of her! I would never spend that much on laser hair treatments, especially because it’s not permanent. It only lasts until you have a hormone change like a new/different birth control, pregancy or menopause.

Sorry, that ladies sucked!  Have you tried a NONO?  My friend has one and swears by it, but I haven’t forked out the cash to try it yet.  There are several home electrolysis systems out now, have you tried any of those?  I would try one of those before forking out $7000, criminatlies, that is crazy cash for hair.

I would go somewhere else.  I love the tech who does it for me, I even switched locations when she went somewhere else.  I actually went for a chronic skin condition, and it looked bad; I would have hated to have someone make me feel worse about it than I already did!

I never paid more than $100+GST, and I was getting underarms, arms and full legs when I was paying that price.  It was done in a clinic in a hospital originally, and now a medical clinic/spa.

Wow, that woman was horrid to you!  I’m sorry she made you feel bad.  I am about to have my third treatment and my package is $2400 for 8 treatments.  I’m getting the bikini area (the whole shebang, front and back) and my underarms done.

I have to add after the first time, I enjoyed going.  I enjoyed just laying back and relaxing and talking to the tech.  It was good ‘me’ time.  When you’re paying for a service you should be feeling good about it!
