I understand that you want to save everywhere possible but if you’re shooting for the first look you should probably do a trial. The 2nd one seems simple enough for them not to get it wrong but the first one looks like it would take a little more creativity and you don’t want to completely hate how it looks on you the day of.

I did not and had something done like the first one. Understand though….that was kind of a huge risk.

I think the first look is great – so elegant!

To answer your question, I won’t. We’re getting married in the tinniest little village and there’s like one hairdresser. So it’s her or none, figure I’ll just take what I get that day! 🙂 In your case, can you go and see photos of what they’ve done before – often salons will have a look book showing the styles of previous customers. If you like what you see, I would just go with it.

I did not have a hair trial and I loved my hair! It wasn’t exactly like the picture but it was close enough. You have to be okay with the idea that it MIGHT not be exactly what you pictured. It seemed like a waste of money to me too..

Love your picks by the way!

I won’t be. I won’t have the time and don’t want to spend extra money either. It’s a risk, but I’m not too worried.

I won’t be.  I’m going with a very simple style, and I’ve had it done twice before with two other salons (as a BM) and both turned out great.

The first one looks pretty.

I think the hair trial is as much about you figuring out what you want as it is the stylist figuring it out. I wouldn’t skip it.

I thought I wanted something at my trial and ended up not liking it on myself, even though the hair alone was great. So it helped me a lot.

I’m scheduled for a trial a month before my wedding day.  It totally stinks to pay the extra money for something that pretty much won’t even be seen on the trial day for anything more than that, but I’m looking at the extra cost as something like insurance.  I have very dry, uncooperative hair so for me, it’s best.  Better to have it and not need it!  (That’s a great motto, but now that I think of it, that’s horrible advice for wedding planning, lol!)
