@LilySarah: yeah, I’m also on the “screw uplighting” bandwagon. Honestly, I think it’s just another product of the wedding industrial complex…

My sister had uplighting company. She had dancing in the cloud and bubbles as well. I ordered them too for my wedding for next year 2014. check their website http://www.lightartstudio.ie.

We did the cheapest, most basic lighting we could get. I agree that I don’t like the clubby feel and I think the colored gels make many people’s skin tone look really unnatural and unattractive.

I orderd it from diy uplighting, but my budget ended up suffering so I cut it. It was not a problem at all! The lighting was fine without it. 🙂

@LilySarah: we’re not doing up lighting, but we are doing tons of candles which I think will add a soft glow to the reception place

We are doing it simply to mask the plain-ness of the walls in our reception hall.
