Maybe you can do one of those picture frames that you can sign the mat. Then when you get your wedding pictures you can put one in there.

I am doing something completely different because I also don’t like the idea of having a guest book just hanging around.

My fiance and I are leaving a nice cookbook and graphic design book out for people to sign in. He’s a graphic designer, and I love to bake, so its perfect for us. Im not a fan of the traditional guest book myself.

I think it’s safe to omit it. I doubt most couples will look at it more then twice and if guests don’t see one I don’t think it will even cross their minds to look for it. We are having a small wedding so we have an “autograph” photo frame instead:)

I think what I’m going to do is have various notecards for people to fill out with their wishes and advice, and then use photos taken at the wedding to create a wedding scrapbook. We didn’t do engagement pictures, so I can’t do a book like that, and besides, I’d rather have the photos match up with the pictures I get. That way, I can put the wishes from our friends next to pictures of us with those friends.

That’s my idea at least… let’s see if it actually gets done!

I think we’re going to just blow up one of our e-pics (though none of them are portrait style)…and just have guests sign the frame

We did Guestbook Color Pages and I LOVE them!

I printed them off front/back…. got some packs of crayons… and had guests take a page & some colors and fill them out.

The Guests really enjoyed them and my Darling Husband LOVED going through them and I know I’ll look through them again…

They’re 8×8 and I put them in am 8×8 album in sleeves.

Here’s a pic of a few I picked out as my favs

It’s just an idea…. but I don’t think a guestbook is a “HAVE TO HAVE” 😉

We aren’t having a traditional guestbook. We are having a friend blow up a picture of us and putting a thick white border around it for guests to sign. Than we can frame it and hang it in the house somewhere.

We did not have a guestbook because we forgot it at home! lol. In hindsight it wasn’t a big deal. We have all of the cards from the gifts to look at for well wishes. We attended another wedding last year and she had a tree set up where people could write their wish for the happy couple. I thought that was creative.

@DeaconBride: I don’t like guest books, either–but I’m having a wishing tree made of manzanita branches and crystals for people to write their “best wishes”…I think its more personal in my opinion and looks better

We did an apothecary jar where people could write wishes on little slips of paper. We got the jar from hobby lobby and cut blank square of paper for people to use.

It was pretty inexpensive, doesn’t require a lot of set-up, and now we get to read all of the advice and well wishes from our guests! We figured that was most meaningful than a list of guests names anyhow 🙂

We’re doing vintage postcards where people can write wishes and put them in a vintage chest.

We’re not doing a guestbook – seems an unnecessary expense (we’re really trying to stay on a tight budget), and I don’t know what we’d do with it other than read the comments and put it in a box to clutter up the storage space! The photos are what we want to remind us of people who were there.
