I love my non-strapless dress! I’ll feel more comfortable not having to continually pull it up all night.

When I had just started looking for my dress I remember blogging “What is it with so many weddingdresses being strapless??”. I was really quite worried I wouldn’t be able to find a dress that passed my very picky judgement (if I liked the top, I hated the skirt, and vice versa, and I pretty much alwyas could find something I did not 100% like heh). I think I was sorta aiming for a sweatheart neckline and figured that if the dress came strapless I would just add some. I ended up with a lovely halter top dress.

I also ordered the bolero that comes with it — I need to have something to cover up my bare shoulders and all, though mine doesn’t have such long sleeves but 3/4 sleeves, very very cute!

Apologies for the double post– my internet was being wonky!! If someone would be so kind as to remove this second one, that’d be wonderful.

When I started looking my list of what i wanted in a dress was straight sheath dress, low or interesting back, and not strapless. I did try on some strapless but ended up getting a dress that `had everything I wanted.

wow!! all you ladies chose great dresses!!

This was one of my main criteria. I wanted to be able to wear a reg bra so I would be comfortable the whole night and not worry about popping out, or not being supported. I’ve posted mine so many times before, but here she is….

It just showed up today and I love it! It still needs alterations and is all wrinkly out of the box…but you get the point 🙂

I knew when I started looking I didn’t want a strapless dress, I just never wear anything strapless in real life. I was also looking for a vintage/romantic feel. I bought my Pronovias Higuera the last day it was in production.

This is mine, a Jim Hjelm that never went into production, apparently. I’ve got a class seamstress!!

And of course I’m gonna look exactly like this in it, too…!

Not only did I not want strapless, I wanted sleeves! The fine folks at Kleinfeld took a strapless gown and built me shoulders and sleeves. Here is a photo from one of the fittings, before everything was finished and pressed. I’ll upload another when I get the professional shots from the actual wedding.

Thanks! I think the seamstresses did a great job matching the ruching on the sleeves to the original ruching on the bodice. Wearing the dress, you could not tell that the sleeves were not part of the original dress.
