I’m not! I think I’m going to do a tall vase with some branches and/or feathers and lots of candles.

Wow.. your bouquets and boutonnieres look absolutely amazing.. not trying to be tacky- but how much did you spend in order to make them all…. just trying to get a good comparison vs. “real” flowers… I plan to order lilly’s from sams/costco and make the bouquets myself the day before..

Very nice work all around.  I love your flowers and I think the centerpiece idea looks lovely.

We’re only doing flowers for me and the bridesmaids.  For our centerpieces, we’re doing lanterns and picture frames.  This is a very rough mock-up that doesn’t have any pictures in the frames yet:

We are doing a photocube with black picture mats and a top that makes it kind of look like a lantern (overhangs a bit). The picture are pasted inside and then I am putting a light in the middle so they illuminate the pictures. Then my aunt is putting tulle around the table and filling it with butterflies so they look like butterfly nets.

I don’t have any pictures right of my centerpieces since I haven’t started on those yet. My prototype turned out cool though!

We’re only doing candles. Flowers are too expensive and can’t be resold.

what great ideas – and i LOVE the yellow/black bouquets!

we are using (silk) flowers as part of our centerpieces – but i wanted to share this – my Maid/Matron of Honor – for the bridal shower – put these together and I’m thinking of doing this for like the cake table and whatnot…

Wow, beautiful flowers! Great job! We’re having an October wedding, so in our case we’ll use silk leaves and real mini pumpkins for the center piece, as well as differently colored apples and pears. My best friend had the idea in her fall wedding, and I got permission to copy. 😉 Candles are also a really neat idea. I don’t think there’s any reason to spend a huge amount on a ton of flowers. In our wedding, we have the wedding party flowers, one over the fireplace arrangement, and that’s it. Creativity is a wonderful thing!

I would not have guessed that those flowers were silk. Great job!! The only flowers in my wedding are the 2 arrangements on my canopy, the bouquets, corsages & boutonierres, & technically the tables (rose petals). I’m using candles for centerpieces, something similar to BrianneG’s arrangement.

I don’t know if this will entirely count, but we’re just doing taper candles down our banquet tables, with rose petals going between them.  It should be very affordable, add some great ambience, and be rather memorable as the only other reception lighting will be Christmas icicle lights (except on the dance floor which will have some spotlights).
