I wouldn’t go as far as to say they’re terrible (lots of Bees have these dresses) but they’re just not my cup of tea.

If you don’t like them, then don’t like them. However, there are a lot of members here that have purchased those gowns and love them. Calling them cheap and terrible is not nice.

That’s like me starting a thread stating that all Justin Alexander dresses are a rip off and not that pretty. (which isn’t true. lol but you get the point)

Honestly the dresses are not my style. But I agree with Miss. Tattoo its not really nice to start a thread about hating dresses when you know lots of bees have them.

I think if you love Vera, they are a great choice, because most can’t afford the alternative to David’s. They will obviouisly be lesser expensive materials, so you will be able to feel and see the difference between the two lines. They are still fairly pricey for David’s and I definitely think one willing to spend that kind of money should be sure of their decision and not simply purchase for the name. However, they are very unique designs and you don’t find much similar outside of Ms. Wang’s lines.

I think we all see the ones with all of the flowy fabric at the bottom.  Those ones are personally not my style, but they look nice on some people.

I was surprised to see that there is a wide range of styles in the collection though, and most of them you don’t see as often.  I actually really liked the sheath one with straps made of a kind of netting material.

I like the flanges, and I couldnt find that style anywhere else in my price range (its a VW thing) and personally I love my dress choice.

I feel this thread is offensive. Its none of your business why I bought the dress I did and I dont care if you think my dress is cheap and terrible. How rude.

I tried the dresses on since alot of ladies here loved them and they looked so pretty in their pictures. But when I tried them on the dresses just were not me.

I have not tried them on but I do really like the way they look. I think its a personal style issue… and the are are many girls that have gotten these dresses that love them so I agree this is offensive.

@Miss Tattoo: @PuntaCanaBride: @LessIsMoore: Thank you. As a White by Vera bride, I find this thread rude and provoking negativity.

My 1st dress was a beautiful Enzoani lace dress. I thought the search was over last November and had no idea about Vera Wang and her signature organza flanges. And I was a serious snob about NOT getting a dress at DB so I didn’t even look there.

Then I went to the DB website in February when the Vera line launched because I couldn’t understand what all the hype was about. I saw that blush dress and my heart stopped. I was so excited I couldn’t breathe and thought I was going to throw up! I immediately went to the store and tried it on. End of story – the Enzoani was left behind and now I’m a proud White by Vera bride.

For me, it has nothing to do with the designer and everything to do about THAT GOWN. I’ve since learned more about Vera’s impact on the bridal gown industry. I’m so in love with my dress, I love the way it flows and the material is quality enough for me to want to get married in it.

    Thank you, rant over.

To be fair, of course DB is going to be less quality than a designer gown. You’re also paying at least 1/4 of the price, if not less. I don’t have one, but if I did it wouldn’t be the the name, as it is I can name probably 3 gown designers off the top of my head and the name brand isn’t a big deal to me.

I’m curious- since you know a lot of bees have bought from this line, don’t you realize this could lead to offense and hurt feelings? What possible good could come out of this thread?

The brides I’ve seen in the DB Vera Wang dresses look BEAUTIFUL!

They aren’t what I was looking for in a dress but every bride is beautiful in her version of THE dress.. Also, I’m sure that a designer like her wouldn’t cheap themselves out by making a line of dresses that looks cheap.

hm. This thread hurts my feelings a little. I’m not a Vera Wang DB bride, but I know lots of girls who are and LOVE their dresses.
