True, but the implied suggestion is that White VW brides can’t see beyond the name/label that the dresses are terrible or cheaply made. I am a smart, accomplished woman and I’m irritated to have that insinuated. One man’s trash is another’s treasure. So what? I only need the dress to survive one day, which it will. I love the color and I’m happy with my choice. And I’m not blind or wrong in picking it for myself.

When did the OP come back on?

I think sometimes people on this website are so easy to take offense. We all have a right to our own opinion. Not everyone is going to like everyone’s dresses. I don’t see why we can’t voice that opinion without it being made out that we are being a horrible person. It is all a matter of opinion really. There are a lot of dresses on this board that I don’t like.
I don’t like when people think that everyone has to add a sash to everything. I mean if someone started a thread that said “I hate sashes on dresses” everyone with a sash would take offense.
Have an open mind and take other people’s opinions with a grain of salt, this in the internet. Not everyone is going to like what you like. These people aren’t going to your wedding and they don’t even know you.
And on topic
I don’t like Davids, they don’t have enough tall options and I think that you can get better options for your money else where. The items are poorly made.

omg I’m so sorry! I got you mixed up with the OP! Sorry bout that…

The OP is probably terrifed to come back on. She’s new. What she said is what one would say at lunch with girlfriends. I’ve seen clothes in the store that look cheap even with an expensive price tag. She had a valid question… are the brides buying them for the brand name or for the love of the dress. It’s like all of those basic jeans from when I was younger… but the “Guess?” tag doubled/tripled the price.
Cut the OP a little slack, she didn’t like the quality for her. Doesn’t seem like she’s had a lot of experience on WB, I doubt she had any intent of hurting peoples feelings. Sometimes you forget what a big community this is. She should have just said it didn’t work for her and then asked her question. But again, she stated it like she would to a friend of hers.
For the record, I wasn’t a fan of them and I know that they wouldn’t do anything for me. But they have looked fabulous on some other bees.

Yeah but opinions can be expressed without using words like “Terrible”, “trash”, “garbage”, “cheap”, etc.
We all know that it’s the internet and to take things with a grain of salt, but what is accomplished by describing someone’s dress as trash? A bride who bought that dress is going to feel like shit because of that opinion. Really think about that, is she supposed to feel good about an “opinion” like that? Is it supposed to make her think twice about a dress she already loves?

Being from the UK I only know of David’s what I see on here and that goes for their Vera Wang collection. Have to say from what I see, I absolutely adore!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the White by Vera- you are very lucky! 🙂

Yeah, but I feel as though it does not matter how nicely she put it she would have still be eaten alive. Inexpensive is just a nice word for cheap.

I totally agree. You can check out my thread from last week about which sash to pick for my dress. Most Bees commented no sash necessary and the others offered different suggestions. When I went for my final fitting last Friday, I tried on 5 more sashes. I want one. And I am going with my gut and wearing the one that makes me happy. Does the Hive agree? No! But there is a tactful way to give feedback and get opinions of others without negative insinuations.

I just want to know.. (hate to be annoying to ask again) ..
Do the people who dislike the collection dislike it for the design? or because it is DB or trendy?
Pink, there isn’t a tactful way when everyone is looking for a reason to be offended.
I dislike several of the dresses because of the design. I haven’t actually seen any of them in person, though, because I bought my dresses before the line was released.

To be fair, the OP only used cheap and terrible.
“Ok, so I already ordered my wedding dress back in April that is a Justin Alexander. Anyway, When I first saw the White by Vera Wang collection I thought it would be beautiful because it’s Vera Wang of course! I have seen her other high end wedding dresess and they are gorgeous but her White Collection at Davids Bridal to me is terrible. To me they all look cheaply made and nothing like the pictures you see online. I see lots of ladies on this site buying these dresses, but are they buying the dresses because they really love them, or because it’s Vera Wang?”
Is this really that bad?
People say stuff about DB ALL THE TIME and as a DB bride, I try not to take offense. Honestly, when trying on dresses I thought the Mori Lee taffeta felt cheap. Is everyone going to jump all over me now?
