We had outdoor pictures before our ceremony and though I got a small grass stain on my dress that was it.  If you have it cleaned right away you shouldn’t have any issues with it.  Also…bring a piece of white chalk in order to cover up any grass stains or other small stains that might show up the day of.  It’s a GREAT way to cover up stains in a pinch!

I didn’t have any problems with stains on my dress! I did not use an aisle runner and the majority of my day was outdoors. You will have to be careful of creepy crawlies (just saying, I warned you. Both outdoor weddings I went to this summer and at my own, the bride found a spider/grasshopper in her wedding dress) and twigs/leaves snagging the hem.

I did get grass stains on my dress, but it wasn’t really from the ceremony.  I think a majority of them were from pictures, which was around a barn area.  I had my dress cleaned, and I believe all of the stains were removed.

waitingtobeemrsS:  I also had bugs in my dress! They got caught between layers of lace, and were clearly happy to be freed once I noticed them. I’d forgotten about that until you mentioned it.

nanoinfinity:  The wedding before mine the bride found a spider in her dress. It was huge!!! I would have freaked out at that. Yikes. At my wedding there was a grasshopper stuck between the lace and the underlay. It wasn’t a spider or a roach, so I could deal. ☺️

vintagekitten:  I had gotten the preservation kit at David’s Bridal so I sent off my dress about a week or two after the wedding.  Basically you pack up the dress and drop it off at a UPS store and they ship it back to you all nice and preserved and fancy.  One tip I have too is that I was surprised that I sweat through my dress so much…this might be Too Much Information but you could tell in the pits of my dress.  Fortunately you couldn’t tell when I was dancing up a storm because it was dark at the reception.  So my other dress advice is REAPPLY YOUR DEODORANT!!!  Haha.

Didn’t have an outside wedding but my dress definitely got very dirty on the bottom from being outside. I think most of it was from the parking lot because my dress wasn’t lifted up high enough. No biggie because no one saw it but it definitely needed to be cleaned!

My wedding was 100% outside and I will be honest- be prepared for your dress to get pretty dirty at the bottom, especially if you’re taking a lot if pictures in “natural” areas. We got married at an arboretum and did our first look pictures underneath a tree- my dress definitely got dirty and dragged along leaves in the train! I had a decent train so the dirt was unavoidable. I also got a few bugs in my veil. Our ceremony was on grass and I have not seen a single grass stain- just dirt! Haha. Thankfully, it can all be cleaned and I’m only wearing it once so oh well!
