I am having my Cermony inside a Church…but I really want to have an outdoor reception. I want to rent some big tents & have some of the round hanging lanterns in rust orange & dark brown colors! Just wondering what the weather will be like in October 2012…lol…anyone else plan on having a October wedding & an outdoor reception???

October can be tricky here in NC but most likely the weather would be nice enough to have an outdoor reception – i would highly suggest looking into heat lamps just in case. you just never know – avergage high is 73 and average low is 50.
I went to a wedding in Maryland this year in October and it was beautiful! their reception was actually indoors but the ceremony was outside and it was nice enough to not have to wear a jacket.

Yep, Oct 6th, 5pm, Mid-Atlantic (DC area). We have an indoor backup plan as well. Last Oct 6th was GORGEOUS so I hope this is a good omen, but the weekend before that was unseasonably cold. Fingers crossed for both us us!

@LissaBell86: My wedding is in Asheville the first week of October and the weather was warm, but cool at night. We went back the last week of October, and we were both wearing long sleeve/light sweater; my wedding is in the mtns., so of course it will be cooler.
Check out weather.com for temp. history by zip code and also check out when the sun sets, depending the time of the day you plan to be outside. Hope this helps!
