Since the pandemic, I have rarely been wearing my wedding set and instead only my wedding band. I am washing my hands so much and using hand sanitizer all the time that wearing a set isnt practical. Plus, working from home 100% I am more casual than normal and my whole set feels too blingy. Anyone else doing the same?

Yup. I’ve always only really worn my engagement ring when I leave the house and right now I’m only leaving for daycare drop off and grocery shopping which hardly feels worth putting it on. Some days I’ll wear it just because it’s pretty and I feel like it, but more often than not it’s sitting on the nightstand.

Yes! Even pre-COVID, I only wore my engagement ring to work and on date nights. It was the first thing off when I got home (I always take my jewelry, minus my wedding band, off and put on sweats before I do ANYTHING) and the last thing on before I head out the door in the morning. I’m back in the office a few days a week now, but since I’m not seeing anyone, I wear my engagement ring like, once a week if that.

I’ve gotten in the bad habit of not wearing my rings at all. I was pregnant when lockdown started and I started working from home so I got out of practice. Towards the end of my pregnancy, my fingers were swelling a bit and it was uncomfortable. Then with a newborn, it was the last thing on my mind. Now I always forget to put them on.

no. I am OBSESSED with my rings so…😆🤷🏻♀️ I would be too sad not to wear them all the time.

I stopped wearing both my rings when the pandemic began. Then I just got used to that and they started getting tight with some covid weight gain. Now I’m pregnant and fully wfh, so I probably won’t put them on again for a long while… I always took them off when I got home even pre-covid, so yeah. Sometimes I miss them, but not wanting to bother to have them resized yet!!

I too have had a naked finger for most of the past year! I normally take my rings off when I get home, and since I havent really left the house, I have gotten out of the habit of putting anything on.

I pretty much stopped wearing all my rings last March when we got our work from home orders. My workplace will not be opening back up for non site essential workers until its over so I’m rarely in, and even when I am, I usually forget to put my rings back on. And now that I’m almost 7 months pregnant, they don’t fit anyways!

At home it’s really easier to not wear them, to keep them from being scratched up when doing normal household things, plus if I want to put on hand cream which I should actually do since it’s winter. That said though, I do love to look at them on, and feel a little bad not being able to do so unless it’s around the house. I work at home, and my only other outing is to the supermarket, and even pre-COVID, I would put them on for that. I’ve actually started wearing some of my silver jewelry lately.
And it’s not just the rings. It’s also my clothing. My going-out clothes are mostly casual and I really like them, but at home I just wear lounge clothes. So I feel like the other clothes are not getting worn either.

No, I still wear my set every day 🙂 I feel too naked without them!

I wear my e ring all the time, even at home. It’s kind of new (since the end of November) so I still love to just look at it whenever I want. It’s just a plain band platinum solitaire so it doesn’t get gunky, I clean it every night with a toothbursh and Dawn, once a week I put it in the ultrasonic. From what I’ve read, hand sanitizer doesn’t harm diamonds and platinum (I think it might make white gold turn yellow faster though?)

I’m still wearing my wedding ring, which is just a plain gold band, but I hardly ever wear my e-ring now. Washing hands so often, I was worried about damaging it, plus all those stones…felt like too much chance of Covid germs hiding among them.
I do make an effort to put my e-ring on more at the weekend, even if we’re just snuggling up watching a film or playing a board game. My husband always comments on it when I wear it, so I think he likes to see it, and it does help to make the weekend feel a bit different. Almost like ‘dressing up’ pre Covid!

I agree with @greeneyedbee:
I love putting my set on everyday and would feel naked without it! My job is considered “essential” so I kept going to work but I think even if I had worked from home I’d still put it on 💍

I work from home… even pre-pandemic, and most day I still wear my rings.. for me it’s kind of a habit, wake up…reach for my rings… but sometimes I will just opt for the band (not frequently)

I wear my wedding ring (plain gold band) during the week and my engagement ring on Shabbat. It’s fun to make shabbat a special occasion that way. I used to wear them both all the time.
