I bought my dress from Ebay, sent them the sizing and didnt try it on until I got it, dress was made perfectly actually came a little to big which I was happy about since It came from china, so long as your measurments are acurate and you tried on dresses similar to it you shouldnt have an issue.

I’m not 100% in your boat but I ordered my dress with some changes.  I am adding long sleeves to a strapless dress, which means the neckline and back will also be altered. I’ve only tried it on strapless. I am a little nervous but I’m trying to turn that nervousness into excitement.

I think that if you’ve tried on Alines and liked the silhouette on you, I think you will love the dress! Any sizing issues can be altered. Like you said, I also had a hard time finding something similar to what I wanted, hence the custom order. Good luck!!

I’ve ordered a few wedding dresses without trying them on first, with the intention that I could return those I didn’t like. In my case, however, I ordered from online retailers with good return policies and quick shipping (BHLDN, Lulus) so I wasn’t stuck with my choice if it didn’t work out. I’m going with a dress I didn’t try on before ordering, but it took ordering and returning several plus trying on things in person to narrow down what cuts and styles I liked. I’d personally be wary of ordering anything that couldn’t be returned without trying on first unless the price was so low that I didn’t mind starting from scratch if it didn’t work out.

I ordered mine off Amazon, loved it and I only needed a few alterations. Went to a local seemstress and it cost less than $40 for changes.

I ordered mine from stillwhite. I hadn’t even tried any dresses on before I bought it. It fit amazingly well put $50 of alterations in it and ended up with a $1200 dress for $250. I completely recommend

I ordered mine from Etsy without ever trying it on, and had a fantastic experience. Mine was also an A-line, and I tried on other similar styles in real life before ordering too, which I think was a smart move on your part! Make sure to update and show us pics once you get it 🙂 can you show us what it looks like on the model?

I did! It works well for those who know just what we want. I didn’t even try on other dresses 🙂

I ordered mine off ebay and it’s coming on Friday! It’s very very similar to a style I tried on in person (same brand, same size) but it’s a slightly different dress. Hopefully it’ll work out! If so, the savings will be amazing!

I forgot to add that mine was $60, free shipping and people raved at how pretty my dress was!  It was awesome, I wooudl recommend trying it – make sure you can return it if you don’t care for it.  Mine eas not hand tailored to fit me so I could return it but I love it!!

I ordered a dress from The Last Minute Bride and it was a great experience. I ended up returning the dress because it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, but the return policy is clearly laid out and outside of a restocking fee, I got a full refund. The dress also came super quickly. I think as long as you can return it if you don’t love it, it’s okay to order a dres without trying it on first.

I have mixed reviews.

I ordered one altered off etsy that I had never tried on. Although it looks the way it should (except for minor strap location issues) and fits fine, when I did try it on, it did not FEEL the way I had hoped. I was underwhelmed. I did not feel like a bride in it.

However, I had tried on a dress at a local shop that I loved but didn’t buy it because it was so expensive and I thought the first one was the perfect style. Gazing at pictures of me in this other dress is probably why I was so underwhlemed by the first one. I ended up buying it online basically new from a similar-sized woman, and it was everything! Totally different style than I originally wanted, but the feeling was right.

carobutter :  I purchased my wedding dress for $99 on Ebay. Spent another $20 for alterations, and $40 for drycleaning. Best decision ever!! It fit like a glove and I felt like a princess.

My advice is to purchase a dress with a corset back if you’re not having it custom made, so there’s some wiggle room. lol
