hi! i’m not, but my bf works in a related field and i did a lot of research for him comparing these! do you want to work at a gym? in this case you should choose ace, nasm, or acsm. these 3 in general are the most well regarded, and seem like the best bet overall. if you do want to work somewhere specific, ppl recommend contacting your top potential employers and asking them if they have a preference. it’s also useful to compare the costs- they each have different renewal costs and timelines (ie 400 after 4 yrs or 600 after 5 yrs etc) and testing costs. sorry i can’t remember how it shook out, but look into that aspect!

just on a side note, my bf went to an acsm training course and it was a total joke. he let them know and we didn’t appreciate the response we got one bit. obv that could be just one experience in a million tho! if he follows through he’ll be choosing ace or nasm.

@Jamergurl921:  I am an exercise therapist and work more in a rehab setting however i’m trained to work as a personal trainer as well. I have the Canadian equivelent to the ACSM exercise physiologist certification. The only way my certification has helped was to work with more of the chronic illness population. I’m not too sure how well the ACSM personal trainer courses work but i’m assuming close to the same as here in Canada. I guess it depends on your background what level of certification you can get. If you basically want to work in a gym, it takes the lowest level of certification there is, but your variety of clients you can see is limited. I would suggest looking into a personal trainer certificate (from where you may choose) and then look into getting a more specific certificate like a strength training one (CSCS) or a nutrition course. Just to open up some more avenues. Good luck!
