@lovelyhulagirl33:  Thanks! It was from David’s Bridal. Here are some better pictures of the details.

A friend of mine did. Rented a church hall and had a potluck early dinner type thing. No dancing, no booze.

I think the most important part of keeping a budget low is to keep your guest list down. For that budget, I would try and keep it under 75 and rent out a Knights of Columbus with a catered buffet and ipod. Or I would just do a nice dinner with about 50 people.

$5K is very doable.

Our budget is $5000.  Here’s the breakdown of what we have spent so far:

$2800 – venue for ceremony and reception (rented beach house for a week)
$500 – Photographer (4 hours, disc of images & full rights)
$194 – rentals (tables and chairs only for 50 people)
$161 – custom wedding gown (Dressilyme)
$150 – custom white linen suit for Groom (Studio Suits)
$36 – suit for Best Man (had two gift cards for Macy’s to reduce the price and there was a sale!)
$224 – wedding bands (Marc Bello for him, Berricle for me)
$250 – Decor & Paper Products (Ikea for tealight candles/holders & buckets for centerpieces, Seashell Co for seashells, Luna Bazaar for lanterns, My Paper Shop for tablecloths & napkins, Party City for cups, plates, and serving trays, Dollar Store for utensils and misc serving dishes for nacho bar)
$27 – STDs & Invitations (Vistaprint with Groupon deal; add another $50 for stamps because some were inernational)
$50 – Microphone & Speakers for Laptop
$28 – Vinyl album & China markers for guest signatures
$18 – 1 oz pour stoppers for liquor bottles (slow down alcohol consumption at reception)
$300 – budgeted for Alcohol and drinks (used an online estimator)
$600 – budgeted for Food (already got the quote from the BBQ restaurant)
$80 – budgeted for Cake (local grocery store makes great cupcakes)
$100 – Day of Coordinator (friend doing for us)
$100 – budgeted for Flowers (125 stems of orange roses from Sam’s club plus ribbon and floral tape and pearl pins; making bridal buquet, 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, and 10 centerpieces)

(My mom paid for my undergarments and flower for my hair. I am wearing jewelry and shoes I already have with my dress. My mom is also taking care of my hair and nails and helping me DIY bouquets and centerpieces.)

So right now we are at $5618 which is somewhat over but not that bad and I can still find more ways to save or cut down on things that are budgeted but not yet contracted like food and booze.

Not including honeymoon, rehearsal dinner, or gifts for bridal party.
