We get a coupon to go back to the bakery on our one year anniversary for a fresh cake. I’m glad, because having cake sitting around in my freezer sounds like a recipe for trouble!

My Fi really, really wants to do this.  His best friend and his wife ate theirs and said it was gross, so I thought my boy would change his mind, but not so much.  He’s still as determined as ever!  I’m thinking about either letting him freeze it, having a bite of it on our anniversary, but also buying a fresh cake so we can say we tried it, but then eat cake that doesn’t taste like freezer burned grossness, OR trying to convince him to just save a bottle of wine from the wedding and drinking that on our anniversary instead.

So not saving ours. Neither of us likes the idea of eating cake frozen for a year with meats and everything else in the freezer. Not very appetizing!! We’ll just get a ne wone made.

I think it would only last 2 days at the most in my freezer before i ate it!

We didn’t save any of ours.  We were so busy dancing and having a good time we didn’t put it away.  Well, we did toss my veil over it as if that would somehow be helpful.  🙂  By the time we got back out there in the morning to clean up it was all melty and gross but the pigs still loved it!  I definitely want to go back and get a cake for our anniversary though.  It’s from the bakery that we used to get our childhood birthday cakes from.  I’ll jump on any excuse to have one of Mary’s cakes!

Yuck!  I love cake, I love the idea behind why people do this… but this grosses me out.  I imagine there are ways to elliminate the freezer burn taste, I just don’t know of any them so I’ll pass.

We’ve decided to just reorder a small cake at our anniversary from the bakery.

I’ve done the whole frozen cake thing (only a week) and it just wasn’t the same, it wasn’t bad, just not the same. Maybe I didn’t wrap it the right way. But this made my decision, that we’ll just eat the cake that night and then order some the next year.

We had cupcakes and a small cake on the top tier for cutting. We didn’t save any of it because there were only a few cupcakes left at the end of the night. We had a couple in the car with us for the drive the next day, and my family ate the rest.

We are eating ours on our one month anniversary. My mom is making our cake and she is going to make us a fresh one for our first year anniversary.

I really want too! sort of…I love the idea but then when I start to think about eating an old cake? ew! even if it tastes good, I would just be thinking “stale!!”…

I am leaning towards eating it on our one MONTH instead…

We’re going to do it!  It’s in my parents’ freezer.  Of course, after one bite we may not want the rest.  We’ll see…

I like the idea but a friend of mine who did it said it was awful! I like the idea of getting a small cake from the same bakery.

I’m also hoping that we’ll be on vaca for our 1st anniv so hopefully it won’t even be an option. 🙂

I am not sure if we will, my Mother-In-Law is making our cake, so I am sure she will make us a new one for our 1yr anniv. I never understood why a couple saves a part of their cake anywho?
