Girl I am SELLING it! Well, maybe I speak to soon, as I haven’t bought one yet, but I love the idea of another bride getting to use (and love) it too, whatever it is! And getting a little casj back in the process. I have heard Bees talk about donating, but I have never heard of a program to do so.

I have two short ones and two long ones and I will be giving them away to brides that need a dress and cannot afford them.  I have seen too many posts where brides have such small wedding budgets that a lovely gown may be out of reach for them and it would break my heart to know that there are gowns in the closet wasting away when they could make someone elses dream come true.  Even with all the wedding financial issues that we have had, it does not compare to those life issues of others.  I hope to make four ladies a princess for a day, what a honor that would be for me.

My mother donated hers and I always thought that was so beautiful of her to do. She’s never been attached to things and that is a quality I admire.

I have two dresses- I will sell one and donate the other.

You know, I hadn’t even thought about it until I saw the topic of this post.  What a great idea – donating dresses to brides who can’t afford them.  I love this idea!  I’m not yet sure if I’ll be able to part with my dress after the wedding, but this is a fascinating thought!

I bought my dress from Brides Against Breast Cancer.  All dresses they sell were donated from brides and salons.  Prices are awesome and proceeds go to breast cancer patients.  I’ll be donating my dress to them.

I have a gown that I am giving away to a charity or a Goodwill. It was given to me and although it’s lovely, it wasn’t for me. I know it could make someone very happy. My actual dress I couldn’t part with for sentimental reasons. I won’t wear it again, however I have four nieces and chances are one of them will ask for it. And I want them to!! Smile

Yeah I’m definitely considering it. It’s either that or selling it. I have no interest in keeping it as heirloom or using the excuse it will be for my future daughter, since we all know styles change massively.

@Ambrocked: I would check with the red cross, church groups, or soldier service centers.  There are also a ton of groups online that help soldiers when they get home and maybe you can contact one of them and offer your dress to a fiance of a wounded soldier.  Wounded Warriors is a very reputable organization.
