A girl I know after going ring shopping and before the proposal put desposits on venue, church, photopgrapher and video. Not knowing her that well (met her at a friends wedding, where she was pretty open to tell me her wedding planning etc)

I guessed mainly it was to do with the fact she was 32 and wanted to get married that year. I found out later her wedding is only a month after mine. I mean good on her. Most places get booked out pretty quickly, and if ur older and uve been together for awhile and want to be married and be together (they weren’t living together either like my Fiance and i) then all power to her.

On the flip side my Fiance and I have had a long engagement 19months but we’d only known each oher 5 months after getting engaged and also wanting to build a house together so we have alot going on this year and were happy to wait a bit longer to save up for both things. I am a few years younger also (29) so I was happy to sneak in still as a 20 something bride by waiting until 2011.

I’m not necessarily planning, but I am browsing. I have been gathering info for vendors so we can start right when we get engaged.

Yes…..well…let me explain.

Shutterbug and I talked about and agreed on where we (each) want to get married (In the forest, under a ring of redwoods…..Santa Cruz County, California), what type of music we (each) want played at the reception (DJ), what type of first dance we (each) wanted (Waltz or Tango) as well as a month/year (September or October 2014) for the whole shebang.

On my own, I have figured out the type of dress that I want to wear , the type of bouquet that I want to carry, and the Processional Music and three potential venues….but that’s it.
