It wouldn’t be cheap, I can tell you that. We’re planning on covering and lighting the baby pool at our venue and I think it’s going to be around $1000-1500 by the end of it. It’s a tiny pool too! But, it makes a perfect dance floor! We’re debating on the types of lights we’re going to use, but I love the idea of lighting it from underneath. It’s so neat! We’re also floating paper lanterns in the big pool.

I haven’t encountered this in wedding planning, however I do luxury automotive events for a living and we were going to do this at a 5 star hotel on the roof pool so that we could put the car (arriving by crane) on top of it.  The cost for the plexiglass ended up being in the ballpark of $10k – so we skipped it.  However, it makes me think $8 is probably not that outrageous.

I wanted to do that but it was way too expensive for us! We were quoted like 10,000! But it looks amazing!

Wow! Great idea, I think it would be cool as a guest! I would not spend anything close to 8K to do it though as a bride.  That is almost my whole budget!

Oh yeah!  The first venue we were trying to book with had a pool smack dab in the middle.  The lowest quote was around 10k.  But the pics looked amazing!
