dar7:  I usually wear my band, but I like my ring better alone as well!  I think it’s just prettier by itself.

I only wear my engagement ring. I worked in customer service, and I have had many people say something nice about my ring and then ask when I’m getting married. I don’t really mind, I just answer something along the lines of, “Oh we married in February of 2013.”. No big deal to me. I prefer wearing one ring because it’s one less to lose and take off and on. Also, my ring has a thicker band, so I think it can stand on its own.

I have two friends who only wear their engagement rings, one is a larger ring, and the other doesn’t like the look of thicker rings on her hands, so she finds it too bulky with a band even with a tiny one. I see no problem with it at all, they both look so lovely!

I plan on just having one ring as well.  My ring is rather wide and swirly and even a thin band is too much for my liking.  I’m going to get a plain band to wear on the days I don’t want to be blingy.

I’ve been borderline. I love my ring alone and the FI splurged a little because I said it was beautiful enough to not need one, but now I found a band that I really sort of like and I’m tempted but not sold yet.. Still stuck on the decision!

Ring alone

Ring with possible band

I’m seriously just stuck with the decision!

I like ER only.  Especially if the ER is on the thicker side.  Mine is actually quite thin but I just feel like it takes away from the ER.

dar7:  I love wearing both of mine, but then again I have no choice, mine are soldered together.  Although I chose for that, my bands are thin, maybe totalling up to 5mm and they are a matched set.

I do wear a band but I specifically got one that is super thin (1.5mm) and does not detract from my engagement ring. I also have a solitaire so it was pretty easy to find a band to go with it.

I don’t really comment on other people’s rings but if I saw only an engagement ring, I would assume they are just engaged and not married. However, I am a strong believer in just doing what you prefer. You could also buy a cheap silver band and wear it for a bit and maybe you would change your mind.

I plan on wearing just the e-ring. Even though it’s just a solitaire on a plain band, I really don’t like the “clunky” feeling of wearing 2 rings and don’t wear any other jewelry/accessories other than small earrings. Who knows. Maybe I’ll change my mind down the road. If people think I’m engaged and not married, so be it. FI and I have been together 7 years now so obviously we don’t put too much stock into what our relationship status is on paper.

Life’s too short, do whatever you want!

I do prefer my ering on its on purely because it looks bigger (lame I know) but I wear both or my wedding band alone. Would feel odd the other way around.
