I am looking for a photographer on my area.
It is really hard to pick vendors for such an important day, when you don’t know of anyone personally. I feel like I am blindly picking a name out of the phone book.
If any of you live in my area and have any recomendations, I would greatly appreciate it!!

I LOVE our photographer. His name is Daimian Lix, and he’s wonderful. We haven’t had our wedding yet, but he did some engagement pictures and they were fantastic. He works with another photographer named Maia. He is not really into portraits, which was perfect for us, but might not be for everyone. His website for his wedding stuff is http://www.seattleweddingpics.com. There’s not a lot of stuff up there, but let me know if you want to see some of my engagement photos. I’m not sure how expensive he is, because Maia is a friend of my sister, but it’s worth a shot!

Check out the local board for Seattle – there are several posts listing local photographers.
I used Cory Parris (http://www.coryparris.com) and he is such a kind, sweet person…very humble, friendly, and hard working. Here are some of his pictures of my wedding http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/11/02/kid-friendly-wedding/
His strength isn’t setting up trendy posed shots, but he will do an absolutely beautiful job capturing photos that tell the story of your wedding day.
I’ve also heard great things on the local knot boards for Kate McElwee http://katemcelweephotography.com/. If I did things over and my photographer wasn’t available, I would seriously consider booking her based on pricing and all the rave reviews.

- Wedding: September 2008 - A tiny town just outside of Glacier National Park
I booked Kate McElwee for my boudoir shots and she was wonderful to work with. I’d recommend her on personality alone, but her portfolio is also very strong.

Are you going to the Seattle Wedding Show (www.weddingshow.com)? I am sure you heard about it–it’s this weekend on January 3 and 4. That would probably be a good place to check out some work and ask for the photog’s refererences. Perhaps I’ll see you there!

Heather is who we chose to go with. Not only does she take fantastic photos but she has a fantastic personality. She’s sweet and goofy and SO easy to get along with. My vote is for Heatherlynn in 09 😉
