I’m a clinic coordinator, and I wear scrubs. I shower the night before. In the morning I brush my teeth, splash water on my face, pull my hair into a ponytail and hastily put on some coloured eyeliner.

I work in an office about 20 minutes away, but I still sleep in until the last minute. I set my alarm for 6am, but don’t get out of bed until like 6:30. I feed the animals, shower, quickly figure out what to wear (I need to get back to planning my outfits the night before), and walk to subway. The night before I make lunch and coffee if I remember, otherwise I have breakfast supplies at work. My one extravagence in the morning is blow drying my hair. Not all the way, but enought to feel “put-together.” No makeup-that would take too long.

I am a teacher and I live two streets away from my work. I usually wake up thirty minutes before I have to go in, brush teeth and wash my face, throw on clothes, make coffee, and go to worK. I never shower in the morning, always at night. I love my sleep!

MrsC_2Bee:  I wish!  I don’t think you can pull that off with an office job.  I certainly have a low maintenance routine, but I do need to shower (though I never wash my hair in the morning) and put on a touch of make-up.  Hair is not my forte, so I do my best to make it tidy but I think I might lose my woman card for my lack of ability on that front.

I’ll admit that once (it was so much more that once) in grad school I went to bed in yoga pants, gym shorts etc. And would wake up, get out of bed, put on shoes and walk out the door with no other stops. I kept some personal care products and even clothes in my office as I often had experiments that kept me there for days straight which allowed me to freshen as required. It wasn’t good, but it was grad school, so I can’t even hate.

Now that I have a grown up job I have perfected a 12 minute routine that leaves me much more presentable and even fed.

For some unknown reason, my boss has made our office hours 7:30am to 4pm (they used to be 8:30am to 5pm) – I think he wants to beat traffic, but he doesn’t realise how inconvenient this time is for the rest of us! With my commute, I have to be out the door by 6am or I risk being late (there appears to be a large portion of early starters near where I live – it actually takes me longer at this time of the morning than it would at 7am!). I get up at 5:30am and even this is a struggle – my morning routine consists of getting dressed, brushing my teeth and my hair (basic hairstyles only) and applying minimal makeup (some powder and eye liner). I make breakfast at work (I arrive between 7 and 7:30am depending on traffic). I also shower of an evening – I have quite long hair, so it takes me forever to blowdry.

I feel like a crazy person in this thread. I get up an hour and a half before I need to leave to go anywhere. I wash my face, brush my teeth, go through my skincare routine, and then shower. Finish with sunscreen on face and body, brush out hair, and do makeup. Eat breakfast and take care of the dog. Somehow this takes me an hour and a half while the rest of you take like a half hour to get ready? I feel like I am messing this up somehow but I hate feeling rushed in the mornings.

I’m also possibly spending way too much time on skincare but the routine I have keeps my skin clear, which is important to me. Some of you don’t wash your faces in the morning? I wish I could get away with that!
