Yep, I did – and I’m really glad too. Before I had them saudered, my e-ring would spin all over the place, but for whatever reason, saudering seemed to have stabilized it. It was driving me nuts! lol.

I haven’t done it, but I plan to.  My wedding band and my engagement ring kind of fit together.  I like the ones that I have seen sautered together, so I am not worried about it at all.  And, then only one ring to keep track of!

There shouldn’t be a problem with soldering your rings together. I’m too scared I’d loose 1 ring if it was soldered together so personally it’s not for me. Also I like the option of being able to wear just my wedding band on my left hand and my e-ring on my right.

Eh, it’s not super common but I think a lot of brides who have differently shaped e-rings or wedding bands do it – I know my set will have a small gap between them, and though it doesn’t bother me, I also know that I don’t usually wear rings and it may irritate me after a while.

But really, it’s a total personal preference. I read about a girl who used to say “well I love my e-ring that much I wanted to give it it’s own finger” when people asked about it and I thought it was a great response and a really easy solution 🙂

it would make me nervous too. but i wouldn’t do it for other reasons, my ering is a family ring past down for generations, so i’m going to be continuing that. i don’t want my children to have to deal with a wedding band attached to it.

I’m planning on doing mine, I’ve just been too lazy to take them! I have an oddly shaped ering band so my wedding band had to be made to fit. So the jeweler recommend I get them sautered.

I didn’t want to do mine.  One of the reasons I wanted a plain band was so that I could take my e-ring off at times if necessary and have a more durable option.  I teach young kids, so there are occasions where my plain gold band is better–fingerpaint, playdough, etc.

I want to be able to wear just my wedding band if I ever decide to do that.  When I was growing up my mom never wore her engagement ring, and I just want to keep my options open, so no sautering for me.

For future reference gals, it’s spelled solder.

If your e-ring is top heavy, soldering it to the band gives it some weight so it doesn’t spin. The downside is if you need your rings resized, they have to be unsoldered, sized and resoldered together which is more money than just resizing.
