This looks torturous. It’s a documentary on a couple who finds out they are having six babies at once! She says she has to gain 75-100 pounds! 5,000 calories a DAY! 10 big macs! They have video of her in the hospital–bed rest for 2 months! Her mom had to quit her job and she is HUGE! Her belly makes me cringe! It SO big! And she just looks miserable, I want to bring her something! And $1,000/month in diapers for JUST diapers.
Needles to say, she is a stronger womann than I would ever try to be! And she is very brave for having all those cameras around her all the time, LOL.

Wow! I have strong feelings about higher order multiples and feel that if people are doing IVF they should only implant as many embryos as can be safely handled. That sounds absolutely awful!

Is that the documentary where two of the babies died before she delivered and she almost lost a third one and they had to do a c-section at 28 weeks? Because if we are talking about the same one, that whole thing mad me a bit angry for reasons having to do with what DG said…
Anyway, I’m greatful for my one little bean, but I have to admit that I’m jealous of women who get what my Darling Husband and I call a two-fer–TWINS!

I once saw a show (I don’t remember the name but it could be the same) where a woman got pregnant with sextuplets WITHOUT any form of help. It was all her and her husband! I was wicked impressed but man they totally have their work cut out for them. Imagine trying to get pregnant and becoming pregnant with six??? I didn’t even know that was possible without intervention.

The probability of naturally occuring sextuplets is one in several billion. One in 4.5 million overall. I could only find 2 cases reported in the media, but it appears that there are cases reported going back to the 1800s, just that all the babies didn’t survive. There are 100 cases reported ever.

5,000 calories a day?! 75-100 lbs?? WOW. No thank you! lol

And I thought I was worried with the possibility of twins or triplets for our first pregnancy. That was all I kept hearing since both g’mas on my side had twins and apparently natural triplets also run in my family. I couldn’t imagine being preggie with 6. You can only imagine the “joys” this woman is going through.

@mrs.DG, i totally agree. They didn’t really discuss how she ended up with 6 embryos, but they did say that they basically took his stuff and shot it up her with a turkey baster (IMO if that’s all they did, they could’ve done that at home lol) so it wasn’t IVF necessarily. Unless they kept some details away. Society has a tendency to “reward” people with successful multiple births unfortunately (tv shows, etc)…we forget that they are SO rare!
@MightySapphire, no, this is the one where she had all six, totally healthy babies. They sure are cute though! Now she’s returning to work (she’s a PA, he’s a businessman) and they’re both training for a maratho with six kids in tow. Eek.
She said her faith drove her to have all 6–there was no other option for her. Darling Husband and I have talked about Advanced Reproductive Techniques and we both are prepared to deal with tough decisions. I think my comfort level is twins.
I’d be curious as to how they pay their bills, but seeing as how delivering 6 babies got her on Deal Or No Deal and lifetime supplies from Johnson & Johnson and $100,000 in scholarships, well….I guess they did okay.

Wow, she delivered ALL SIX?? Holy cow. I really don’t think I could do that. And imagine what her tummy looks like now! (I get grossed out thinking about Kate Gosselin and what hers looked like. Ew!)

Yeah. Every time she stood up, her feet turned blue. She had to climb into bed immediately. Her mom had to quit to basically become her hurse and she said her stomach felt like fire all the time.
You know, they’re showing pictures of her and she wore really attractive blousy tops for months post-baby (she dresses very classy and not frumpy, but looks comfy) and she’s training for a triathalon. She looks really good with workout clothes on!
Who knows, maybe with all that money she won on Deal Or No Deal and her medical “connections” she got some work done. After 6?! Omg, I think it’d be necessary, lol.

It really frustrates me that people get “rewarded” for having a bunch of kids. Scholarships, life time supplies, medical connections, etc. I would like some help with mine! Shouldn’t I get something too?!

No joke, Rosie Girl.
I got up at 545am and ate my veggies today. Where’s my money?!?! lol. I will say that if i work in medicine, too (she does), i’m taking advantage of those connections!!!! =]

What channel was this on? Sounds like my kind of freak show. I love that kind of stuff!!!
And she needed to gain 75 pounds? I only had ONE baby and I gained 50. Oops.

Oh my gosh! That’s just… I couldn’t even imagine. I saw pictures of Octo-Moms belly and I literally got nauseous for a second.
