Since I’m doing a lot of DIY, I’ve been looking for ways to cut the amount of last minute prep work that needs to be done for my wedding. Once idea that crossed my mind was incorporating minature trees into my centerpieces (so its living, but not going to die like doing cut flowers).
My wedding is NOT a winter/christmas wedding, but the reception will be on top of a mountain that is COVERED in evergreen trees. I just think baby trees are SOOOO cute, and I like the idea of encouraging some guests to take them home and plant them 🙂 (ON a side note, I’ve decided against doing those mini saplings as favours for everyone, since I think most of them would never get planted, and that makes me sad!)
Has anyone ever seen little evergreens as centerpieces? They would definitely be nicely potted, and the centerpiece would like have candles, maybe a mirror and some ribbon, etc to ‘dress it up’
I’ve attached a few pics I found for some slight inspiration

i think that’s a great idea and with the right accessories/ribbon/decor or even just plain… the mini trees would be perfect for your mountaintop venue!
just a question, how much do they cost?

I’m actually unsure of the price as of yet! They seem expensive online (due to shipping), but I need to go check out a local nursery. I’ve seen small, young versions of trees that will utlimately get big for like $5-10, but I’m not sure how much an actual ‘dwarf’ tree would be.
I’m also going to look into those little seedlings that are like $1 each. I’m not sure if they would grow big enough in the year before my wedding.

Those are cute!! What about those little Japanese trees that are supposed to help calm you!? Those are really cute too lol

Do you mean the Bonsai trees? Those are adorable as well, but they kind of make me think “Asian” as soon as I see them, and that really doesn’t go with the theme of my day. I should look into them though, and see if they come in different species or something – there might be some that look a tad different!

I think mini trees are a great GREAT GREAT idea! Especially considering your venue. I love it! The idea of something that can be reused and live on is a very special way to honor your event!
